It’s playtime! Lego is certainly building dreams one brick at a time as they welcome its newest addition — Legoland Shanghai Resort, opening on 5 July 2025 in Fengjing Town, Jinshan District

As the first Legoland in China, this mega theme park is also the largest ever in the world, boasting eight immersive themed zones and over 75 rides.

While the attractions are directed at children below 12, who says adults can’t have fun too?

Tickets start at 350 yuan (about S$62) for a one-day pass. However, families can opt for the One-Day Family Ticket for 1013 yuan (about S$180). This package includes entry for one adult and one child, plus a sweet treat from Olieron Ice Cream.

If you grew up playing with your Lego minifigures (I was obsessed with Lego Friends), you’ll feel just like a child again.

Each of the eight themed areas brings the iconic Lego stories to life, including the ever-popular Ninjago world.

What’s more, there will also be a replica of famous city skylines, built using more than 20 million Lego bricks.

Look forward to the world’s first Legoland Creation World, where the largest giant minifigure in Legoland history awaits (I already know this will be the go-to photo-taking spot for tourists).

I hope you don’t have megalophobia, because this 25 metre-high figure will definitely be towering over you.

Dive into Chinese mythology with the world’s first Lego Monkie Kid-themed area, inspired by Sun Wukong, the legendary Monkey King.

After, hop aboard the world’s only water village cruise, a nod to the traditional Jiangnan water towns.

As for rides, adrenaline junkies can get on thrilling roller coasters like the Dragon Roller Coaster, Jet Ski Chase, Carousel, and other exciting water-based rides.

Of course, there are also Lego-themed dining options throughout the park. Check out the Ice Cream Shop at Brick Street or the medieval-style fast food restaurant, Knights’ Banquet at Lego Castle.

You can’t miss the meet-and-greets with life-sized Lego characters, or the 4D cinema either.

The fun never stops in the Legoland Hotel, featuring five themed rooms — LEGO Monkie Kid, LEGO City, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Castle, or LEGO Friends.

Parents, they’ve thought of you. With separate sleeping areas for adults and children in each room, everybody is sure to get their own space (and sleep).

Of course, hotel patrons will also be able to enjoy buffet breakfasts, exclusive performances, and access to both indoor and outdoor attractions.

Whether you’re five or fifty, Legoland Shanghai Resort promises an experience of fun. Are you in for a brick-tastic time of your life?
