You might have seen this popular mama hotpot appear on your TikTok feed. Well, good news for you, the team behind Let’s Kinn THAI has opened their second outlet in the west serving their signature Thai-style seafood mama hotpot alongside other authentic Thai dishes. You might not be in Thailand but you can still enjoy these mouth-watering flavours!

Located in Crown Centre at Bukit Timah, the second outlet sports a new look and a new name — Let’s Kinn Bro. While they might have a new name, they still serve the same authentic thai-style dishes, including the Seafood Lover Mama hotpot (S$42.90) — as a seasoned Mama lover, I was super excited to try this.

Just like the OG outlet in Tanjong Pagar, the hotpot comes in three sizes: S, M, and L. It comes generously topped with a fresh lobster and succulent prawns in a pot of orangey-red broth. It might look like any regular tom yum hotpot, but boy, the flavours in here will really transport you to the streets of +66.

The tom yum was probably one of the best tom yum soups I have ever tasted. It was spicy, tangy, lightly sweet and oh-so addictive — it really put the ‘yum’ in tom yum. Apart from fresh prawns, there was also clams, mussels, enoki mushrooms and egg — all of which helped to add to the soup’s rich flavour. There’s also a meat lover’s alternative if seafood isn’t your vibe.

If you love a good steamed fish, you must order the Thai Steamed Seabass with Lemon (S$29.90). It stars a fresh seabass steamed in a clear tangy sauce topped with lemon slices, chillies, and garlic. When it comes to eating fish, I always fear that the fish would have a fishy taste — which thankfully the seabass didn’t have. The tangy sauce also brought out its natural sweetness.

To complete the meal, of course you need to have the iconic (or basic) Mango Sticky Rice (S$8.90). It was a decent serving of mango sticky rice, although I would have preferred the glutinous rice to be less sticky and slightly more firm. The classic Thai Milk Tea (S$2.50) on the other hand was certainly a real lifesaver from the scorching heat.

If you can’t make a trip up to Thailand right now, Let’s Kinn Bro makes for a great alternative. You might not be in the land of smiles but at least the food here will put a smile on your face. While you’re there, make sure to pick up a pint of beer or two over at the bar counter.
