The whole world is watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 this month, and will probably do so until the finals on 19 July 2026. But did you know that apart from soccer, there are plenty of other major sporting events happening in the same month?
Here are some big events to watch in the month of July, especially if you are a sports fan.
F1 Grands Prix
In July, Formula One (F1) fans will be treated to a Grand Prix almost every weekend. On the weekend of 3–5 July 2026, the British Grand Prix will take place once again on the iconic Silverstone circuit. Two weeks later, on 17–19 July 2026, the drivers and teams will head to Belgium to take on the Belgian Grand Prix 2026.
The third and final race of the month will be the Hungarian Grand Prix 2026, happening from 24 to 26 July 2026. For those of you who have been following the 2026 F1 season so far, you would know that it has been full of upsets and surprises.
From new regulations to Mercedes’ dominance with 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli to Lewis Hamilton’s return to the podium with his first win for Ferrari, the competition has been heating up. Don’t miss those three races this July, which will surely be filled with action!

UFC 329: McGregor vs. Holloway 2
This one’s for all of you combat sport fans, especially those of you who follow the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The famous former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will be making his return to the cage and face former UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway.
This McGregor vs. Holloway Fight will headline the UFC 329 event, and is highly anticipated for a few reasons. Firstly, it will be McGregor’s first fight in five years, marking a comeback for the celebrity fighter. Secondly, McGregor and Holloway have faced each other in a match before in 2013, when McGregor took the win. So, fans are eager to see whether history will repeat itself, or if Holloway will get his ‘revenge’.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is well underway, but it will truly reach its climax in July. At the start of the month, the Round of 32 will be played, before the competition heads into the Round of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and eventually, the Final on 19 July 2026.

MLB All-Star Game 2026
Major League Baseball (MLB) fans will also be blessed in July, with the MLB All-Star Game 2026, taking place on 14 July 2026. This event brings together both the American League and National League of MLB into one showcase event.
Players who will participate in this game are currently being voted in by fans. This makes it the event of the year for baseball fans, as most of their favourite star players will make an appearance.
It will also be a mid-season celebration of the world’s best baseball players, as they go head-to-head to determine who deserves the title of All-Star winner and Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Wimbledon — The Championships 2026
Love watching competitive racket sports? The oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament, Wimbledon, will also be happening in July! By the time the new month rolls around, the competition will already be in its first and second rounds.
The Gentlemen’s Doubles Final and Ladies’ Singles Final will take place on Saturday, 11 July 2026, while the Ladies’ Doubles Final and Gentlemen’s Singles Final will be held on Sunday, 12 July 2026.
It will be two weeks full of tennis action at the only tennis Grand Slam played on grass, and tennis fans around the world will surely keep their eyes peeled. Who do you think will win The Championships this time?

Tour de France 2026
Talking about prestigious competitions, there is also one such event in the world of cycling. Tour de France 2026 is the biggest cycling race and will be returning from 4 July 2026 to 26 July 2026. Consisting of 21 stages over three weeks, the race will take competitors from Barcelona, Spain to Paris, France.
The total distance covered will be over 3,000km, passing through flat roads, hills and mountains, presenting a variety of challenges to the cyclists. Only one cyclist who completes all 21 stages of the race in the least combined amount of time will win the coveted title and yellow jersey.

2026 Fencing World Championships
The last sporting event on our list wasn’t on our radar until one of our colleagues introduced it to us, and it sure looks cool. The 2026 Fencing World Championships will be held over a week from 22 July 2026 to 30 July 2026.
This is fencing’s biggest annual competition organised by the International Fencing Federation, and will take place in Hong Kong this year. That is great news for us Singaporeans as we share the same time zone — meaning that anyone who plans to watch the championship will not have to sacrifice their sleep schedule to do so.
There will be 12 championship medals that national teams from different countries will compete for, across three disciplines, individual and team matches, and men’s and women’s events. If you’d like to catch the 2026 Fencing World Championships live, visit its official streaming site.
