Did you know that there’s a professional mermaid in Singapore? At Wild Wild Wet’s Mermaid Tales event happening from 1 to 31 August 2022, you’ll get to enter the magical world of mermaids and get up close with Singapore’s first mermaid, Syrena. (While this might not be the famous Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida with their live mermaid shows, this is the closest we can get to it here in Singapore!)
First things first, enjoy a S$20 ticket promotion when you visit the water park on a weekday (tickets are usually S$26 for non-peak periods!), plus a free welcome drink and a reusable mermaid straw, limited to the first 100 redemptions a day.
Next, if you’ve ever wondered what a mermaid would look like in real life, here’s your chance to see one. Catch Syrena in action at the Signature Mermaid Performance and Photo Session, which will take place every weekend at the Neptune Cove Glass Panel. With her graceful movements and gorgeous mermaid tail, it’s like watching a fairytale come to life. (Live mermaid performances can be really magical and breathtaking to watch!)
Stay for the Mermaid On Land Meet and Greet right after the performance, and you’ll even get the chance to say hello to the mermaid up close.
For little kids who love mermaids, there will also be a Mermaid Tail Posing Workshop Bundle conducted by Syrena herself (also the founder of the Singapore Mermaid School).
The kids will get the rare opportunity to learn how to put on a mermaid tail and how to perform signature mermaid poses both on land and in water, all from professional mermaids. Priced at S$50, the workshop bundle is for kids aged four to ten, and also includes a 1-day child pass to the park.
Besides the mermaid activities, there will also be live DJ performances by guest DJs from Hard Vibing, and synchronised swimming performance by former SEA Games gold medalist national swimmers.
The Mermaid Tales event will be held throughout August, though most activities only take place on specific days so you’ll want to check before heading down.
It’s not every day you get the chance to see a mermaid, so this is definitely one event to check out!
