Who doesn’t love a good mystery? If you consider yourself to be the master of escape rooms, here’s something you’ll love — this unique real life Role-Playing Game (RPG) by MurderMystery.sg that’s bound to make you feel like the main character.
Over the next two weekends on 22 to 23 and 29 to 30 April 2023, Singapore’s first game company dedicated to IRL murder mysteries will be hosting an immersive experience that allows you to solve a crime set in 1971. Put on your thinking cap, because it’s your turn to be the protagonist!
The game involves a self-guided trail through Changi Village, where you’ll solve different clues and carry out situation-based tasks at various booths. There will even be 12 professional actors along the way who’ll wow you with theatrical performances, and your job is to interact with them in order to extract the right information and gain an insight into the buried mystery.
To make things a little more complicated, it’s also set during the British armed forces withdrawal from Singapore. Bet you’re wishing you paid more attention during those history lessons right about now. You’ll start off as a low-ranking gang member, so be sure to use your spidey senses to inspect the clues and follow the leads to solve the mysterious crime!
The entire experience spans 4km, and will take about 3.5 hours to complete. I know, it can get really hot these days — but not to worry, you’ll be given coupons to redeem nostalgic childhood snacks like Bandung, Ice Cream Ball, and Kacang Puteh.
Each group will have six players, but you can also sign up alone. Single players will also have an option to be paired with others of similar age, interest, and profession, so feel free to mingle as well. Tickets are priced at S$62 per pax, but you can still enjoy discounts of up to 50%!
