Celebrate National Day at Jewel

One of Singapore’s iconic landmarks — Jewel Changi Airport — is joining in on the National Day celebrations. There will be showcases, rewards, and even a food journey — all found under one roof at the mall. 

For instance, every night from 1 August 2026 to 31 August 2026, a National Day Light & Music Showcase will take place at the famous Jewel Rain Vortex. The show will feature mesmerising light projections and the National Day classic, Home

Jewel Changi Airport and Baba Nyonya Restaurant will also present A Taste & Touch of Peranakan Heritage at Jewel from 1 August 2026 to 31 December 2026. Go on a truly Peranakan experience with a Nyonya food-sampling platter, bookmark-making, and traditional Peranakan attire.

For those of you who enjoy night walks, there is a new path for you to take. From 1 August 2026 to 5 September 2026, Light Together Bras Basah.Bugis (LTB) 2026 transforms the precinct into a zone where you can explore Singapore’s folklore. 

You will find light installations and digital experiences along the way that pay tribute to our rich local heritage. Keep an eye out for these five landmarks: Artsplace @ Waterloo Centre, Reflection Pool @ Bras Basah MRT Station, Stamford Place, Stamford Walkway, and the National Museum of Singapore.

Projection mapping and temporary art installations will brighten your night as you explore the creative district this National Day season.

National Day Celebrations at the National Museum of Singapore

Want to appreciate more of our local arts? There will be numerous programmes taking place at the National Museum of Singapore on National Day, too. On 9 August 2026, you can visit the museum to experience interactive storytelling, workshops, live performances, a photography showcase by migrant workers, and more.

This is meant to be a full day of celebrations, culminating in live performances by local acts and a free live telecast of the NDP at the end of the day. The screening will be held on the Museum’s Front Lawn, allowing you to catch the parade under the stars.

Throughout the day, visitors can also enjoy free activities, including the SG: Decoded treasure hunt, keycap keychain making, and The Snapshot Corner photobooth. Entry to all galleries will also be free.

Dian Xiao Er National Day Special

Quite a number of restaurants across the country are also having National Day promotions — and Dian Xiao Er is one of them. From now to 31 August 2026, the restaurant will be having a National Day Special featuring three limited-time dishes.

The Three-Cup Abalone with King Oyster Mushroom, Succulent Prawn Glass Vermicelli, and Stir-Fried Prawns with Silky Egg White are creations that pay homage to warm, homely flavours many of us would be familiar with.

Beyond the launch of these dishes, Dian Xiao Er is also introducing two exclusive merchandise items featuring the restaurant’s DD.Duck mascot. The Durian DD.Duck Plush Pendant (S$9.90), a cute bag accessory, is available purchase-with-purchase or when ordering one of the three new National Day special dishes.

Tim Ho Wan — Flavours of Singapore

Bak Chor Mee and Dim Sum — can this combination really work? Tim Ho Wan says yes. From 21 July 2026 to 31 August 2026, all Tim Ho Wan outlets islandwide will be serving a limited-time Flavours of Singapore menu.

These new dishes are inspired by Singapore’s rich food culture and local favourites, while staying true to Tim Ho Wan’s signature flair. A perfect example of this is the new Bak Chor Rice Rolls (S$9.50), showcasing Hong Kong Dim Sum with a Singaporean twist.

Other items on the National Day-themed menu are Laksa Seafood Dumplings (S$7.90 for 3pcs), ‘Orh Nee’ Salted Egg Sesame Ball (S$7.50 for 3pcs), and XO Fried Rice with Bacon & Luncheon Meat (S$13.90). Just reading this is making us crave for Dim Sum.
