Parallel Kitchen & Bar is a two-storey loft-style cafe with S$2.90 coffee & affordable set lunches overlooking scenic waterfront views

Although most of us will never get to fulfil our dreams of living in the swanky Sentosa Cove, we can do the next best thing and dine at one of the many F&B establishments in Quayside Isle.

In fact, the latest addition to the line-up of cafes, restaurants, and bars along the glittering marina, Parallel Kitchen & Bar, may just become your new go-to.

Opened by the team behind Parallel Cafe along Club Street, Parallel Kitchen & Bar is a two-storey cafe, restaurant, and bar with minimalist loft-style interiors and floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking panoramic views of the waterfront. Oh, and it is also pet-friendly. Ooh la la.

But it’s not all about the views — guests can tuck into a selection of classic brunch, mains, and sharing plates with flavours “inspired from all over the world”.

The all-day breakfast and brunch options are aplenty, with options like the Classic Rosti (S$26), Avocado & Eggs (S$25), and Steak Sandwich (S$35).

I can always count on a hearty Big Breakfast (S$28) whenever I feel like treating myself, and Parallel’s all-rounded rendition consists of brioche, bacon, bratwurst, grilled tomatoes, scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, potatoes, and salad. Works for me!

If you cannot survive with your daily cuppa, you’re in luck. Both Parallel Cafe and Parallel Kitchen & Bar are home to some of the most affordable speciality coffee (courtesy of Parallel Coffee Roasters) in Singapore.

Aside from the fairly extensive selection of Açaí Smoothies, Fresh Juices, Kombucha, and Tea, a regular Black and White is priced at just S$2.90 and S$3.90 respectively — half the price of what you can find at most cafes nowadays.

From 11am onwards, come for hearty, crowd-pleasing Mains like the Grilled Chicken Leg (S$26), Aglio Olio (S$23), and Pulled Pork Burger (S$26).

Don’t miss out on the value-for-money Weekday Set Lunch (S$29/S$34), which entitles you to a Soup of the Day, a choice of Pasta, Sandwich, or Main (S$5), and/or Banelé (a banana bread-brownie-canelé hybrid) with Vanilla Gelato.

Come dinnertime, the space transforms into a chic and intimate resto-bar with an ambience that’ll immediately sweep your romantic date off their feet. Savour sharing plates like Californian Scallops (S$26), Mussels in Cream (S$24), and Chocolate Mi-cuit (S$19), alongside a specially curated selection of wines, cocktails, and draught beers.

The next time you find yourself on the island, why not take some time to enjoy a leisurely meal while taking in the sights of Sentosa Cove?

PS: If you’re looking for other fun things to eat, see, and do in Sentosa, why not attend Halloween Horror Nights, eat your way through a food festival all while exploring Central Beach Bazaar, or concoct your very own scent at a perfume-making workshop?
