Cafes come and go on our Little Red Dot, but one of our best-known local names, Rise Bakehouse, seems determined to prove that it can rise above the rest. In fact, they now have not just one, not two, but three outlets!
Outlet number three has recently opened its doors in Chinatown, offering a bold departure from the original concept.
Forget what you knew about their original name and Korean-inspired cafe fare, and say hello to Rise Bakehouse Heritage and their new concept — Singapore-inspired cakes and drinks!

Taking on local flavours and a “Singapore modern heritage concept”, old-school charm is tastefully fused with modern flair right in the heart of Chinatown.

You’ll be hit with waves of nostalgia when you step into the space. Old-school cabinets displaying traditional symbols like “Good Morning” towels and rickshaws, and wooden furniture decorate the space.
Just one look at the menu, and you’ll feel right at home. It’s always a treat to see how iconic Singapore bites are incorporated outside of their norms.
In Rise Bakehouse Heritage’s case, local flavours are blended into almost everything, including their teacakes, cakes, and bakes — their signature.
On top of that, some items are store exclusives — your sign to come down to the cafe to try them for yourself.
Remember your childhood days chowing down crispy Kaya Toast? This breakfast must-have is now blended in the Kaya Pistachio Cake, while every Singaporean’s morning caffeine is now Kopi Tiramisu.

And traditional goods we know and love like kueh are infused into the Kueh Salat Cake.
Rise Bakehouse Heritage is definitely trying to keep you sated all day long, as they have a plethora of Hearty Mains with Singapore touches.
Curry Mayo lends a fiery twist to the classic Fish & Chips, culminating to become Curry Mayo Fish & Chips (S$20.90). And of course, the local icon chilli crab makes its appearance in the Soft Shell Chilli Crab Rigatoni (S$23.90).

There are standard Sides & Bites to accompany the mains like Truffle Shoestring Fries (S$13.90) and Wild Truffle Mushroom Soup (S$10.90). Both are earthy and rich, but you must try the two sides that go all out on the local love — the Salted Egg Yolk Crispy Chicken (S$13.90) and the Singapore Chicken Satay (S$15.90).

It’s plain wrong not to wash it down with a cup of joe at a cafe of all places, and Rise Bakehouse Heritage doesn’t disappoint. Choose from three categories of drinks, including the Artisanal Iced Drinks, the Signature Cream Lattes, and the Made In Singapore line.
The Made In Singapore series is definitely worth highlighting Milo Mocha Gao (S$9) and Chinatown Yuan Yang (S$9), among others.
