Located in Century Square, the outlet is decked out in retro tiles that give a cosy cha chaan teng kinda vibe. Open till 12am, dim-sum-loving Easties can enjoy those comforting Swee Choon suppers close to home and stroll home to digest all the Xiao Long Bao and Liu Sha Bao in their tummies.

Kun Hai Flagship Store — Build your Taobao snack collection made easy

Isshin Machin — A taste of Taiwan to curb your wanderlust craves

Taiwan cafe Isshin Machi has opened its new outlet right before P2HA at Selegie Road’s strikingly modern GR.ID building. Home, Truly — HDB-inspired exhibition at National Museum for nostalgic souls

Ok, it’s not exactly new but it’s topical since it’s National Day and there’s free entry until 3 October. The HDB-inspired exhibition at the National Museum shows snips of Singapore’s past and present through photographs and artefacts. The open concept Open Doors‘ void deck area will also provide a familiar sight, while providing a seating area aesthetically placed within a geometric wall cut-out, acting as a nice frame for photo ops.

Common Man Coffee Roasters — another great new cafe in Joo Chiat

Another new cafe that opened its doors just right before Phase 2 Heightened Alert hit Singapore. The ever-popular Common Man Coffee brand finally opened their first outlet outside the CBD, in the lively Joo Chiat neighbourhood. The gorgeous splashes of blue and airy outside sitting make this a great spot to people-watch while nibbling on a stack of Sourdough Pancakes (S$24), exclusive to this outlet.

Hakken at VivoCity — New anime merch haven that’s every weaboo’s wet dream

After garnering demand for official anime merchandise and instant sellouts at the first outlet at Plaza Singapura, Hakken has opened a second store at VivoCity with more titles than the first. Filled with over 700 officially sourced anime merchandise such as accessories, collectables, figurines, plush toys and stationery, weebs can expect cult favourites such as Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack On Titan, and even old-time favourites such as Re:Zero.

Habitat Coffee — Classic cafe shifts to new home

After 10 years operating out of Upper Thomson, popular cafe Habitat Coffee has moved to a new home in the hipster neighbourhood of Jalan Besar. The larger space is fitted with familiar minimalistic whites and wood accents while offering the same comforting menu loved by many. A nice spot to laze over one of their speciality coffees while digging into eye-drooling brunch items such as their Stuffed Berries Pancake (S$16).
