However, have you ever heard of cereal-infused ice cream? 

Well, now you have, because Heavenly Sundae is Singapore’s first and only cereal infused ice cream and cereal shakes bar in Jurong. 

Sure, it’s a little further for non-Westies but they have over twenty cereal flavours to choose from — some of which cannot be found at your local supermarkets. 

So, if you ever find yourself in need of a pick-me-up, you know where to go (especially for NTU and NIE students studying nearby). 

You’d get the opportunity to DIY your own Ice Cream Swirl (S$6) with an ice cream, one cereal, one mix-in, and a drizzle. Choose from their ice cream including golden vanilla pod, salted caramel or rich chocolate. 

Alternatively, you can top up an additional S$1 for the waffle cone if you’re feeling extra peckish.

If you’re unsure of what cereal to get, simply turn to the eye-catching feature wall that boasts an array of cereal boxes.

Popular flavours like Milo, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Oreo O’s are available but what I’m more interested in are the hard-to-find brands like Golden Grahams, Kit Kat and Trix.

To take things up a notch, they also have a flavour of the month and are currently offering Apple Jacks. Now, you won’t have to scour the internet just to have a taste of the cinnamony apple cereal. 

Top it off with a mix-in like nutella or lotus biscoff cream and drizzle it with maple syrup — cerealously yummy. 

For a more decadent treat, try their Cereal Shake (S$8) that includes ice cream, full cream milk, cereal, and a drizzle of your choice. 

You can choose to get creative and create your own heavenly milkshake but you can always refer to the “bucket list” if you need some flavour inspiration.

Peanut butter fanatics must try the combination of golden vanilla, Reeses Puffs, peanut crackers, and caramel drizzle.

The cherry on top is that they’re open till late for night owls (or students who are mugging for finals).

Located in Jurong Gateway, Ba Buong Banh Mi is a humble takeaway eatery selling Vietnamese sandwiches AKA banh mi from just S$5. 

As someone who lives in the central area, it does sound pretty tempting to make a trip down as I can never resist a good banh mi for affordable prices. 

The Vietnamese-owned Ba Buong Banh Mi offers a simple yet tasty menu featuring banh mi in flavours such as the Special Traditional (S$6.50). 

Served on a crispy and toasted baguette, it is generously loaded with cold cut pate, assorted ham and floss with pickled vegetables and coriander. This may sound like a mouthful (literally!) but you can always request for it to be sliced in half for sharing.

Speaking of sharing, you might want to bring along a friend (or two) as all of their banh mi look equally appetising and worth a try, especially the BBQ Pork (S$6.50). 

It is stuffed to the brim with chunks of succulent pork belly and crunchy veggies, and slathered in mayonnaise and a savoury sauce. 

For something a little more comforting, the BBQ Beef Cheese (S$6.50) comprises tender savoury beef patties with a nice touch of ooey gooey melted cheese. 

Get your breakfast fix sorted with the equally satisfying Egg Pate (S$5), which sees fluffy scrambled egg with a drizzle of chilli sauce. 

And if that is not enough, you can always order a combo (S$7.50) where you can choose from any banh mi alongside a chilled cup of Vietnamese Milk Coffee. 

They have other drinks as well like the Coconut Milk Coffee (S$2.50) and Milk Tea (S$2.50), namely red and green tea for those who enjoy a creamy, spiced beverage. 

Just take note that they currently don’t have a dine-in option but you can always head to the nearby coffee shop if you’re planning to enjoy your banh mi on the spot.
