I’ve had some of the best times of my life during my Poly days — I remember it all too well. If you prefer having (some of) your afternoons free, a hands-on learning experience, and (more importantly) no more school uniforms, then you should definitely check out Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2024.
Taking place from 4 to 6 January 2024, TP is pulling out all the stops for their open house, with school tours, hands-on activities, CCA performances and more. Plus, admission is free, so grab your friends and head down to TP ASAP!
The great thing about Poly life (or life in TP) is that you can choose to pursue your passion in a vibrant, nurturing and caring environment, arming you with all the skills you need to thrive in the future.
TP also has a Campus Care Network Day which is kinda like a school carnival which helps to raise funds for financially needy students. You’ll be able to get a taste of what the Campus Care Network Day is all about at the Open House!
Don’t know where to begin? Fret not as there will be seminars conducted by the six different schools in TP, as well as one PFP seminar for you to gain a more in-depth understanding of what your future here could look like. I won’t be surprised if you leave feeling torn between which course to pursue, because they all sound so interesting!
But of course, talking about the courses isn’t all that fun, you’ve got to see it to believe it. What better way to explore the vibrant and caring TP culture than to walk the grounds and check out some of the best places the school has to offer — including my favourite place, the Makan Spaces.
Rumour has it that the tom yum ban mian (my fave), nasi padang, chicken rice, and western food stalls are all super popular, so make sure to give them a go when you’re there! If you love food as much as I do, then you have to check out their in-house student-run Bistro Lab and Sugarloaf — the hands-on learning experience doesn’t get any more real than this.
To fully experience what a warm and vibrant bunch TP folks really are, you have to stay for the Evening Fest. Taking place on 5 January 2024 from 4.30pm to 8pm, you’ll be treated to free ramly burgers, spectacular student performances, as well as exciting activities like claw machines with exclusive TP merch, sure-win spinning wheels and more.
That’s not all, You’ll also get the chance to meet some of your favourite influencers like Glenn Yong and Chiou Huey, and get hand drawn portraits by popular local artist Jeff Lai. Plus, Mediacorp 987 will also be doing a campus invasion during the event, so you can expect to mingle with DJs Joakim Gomez and Ann Nicole.
Admission to the Evening Fest is by registration only, so hurry and register here before it’s too late! Each registration will entitle you to a wrist tag and you’ll be able to participate in all the evening fest festivities, like giveaways and redemption of food.
As if these all weren’t exciting enough, TP also has some very attractive prizes to be given away. In need of a new phone? You might be able to walk away with a new iPhone 15 or a Samsung Flip 5 during one of their giveaways. There’s also concert tickets up for grabs — there’s a blank space and it might have your name on it.
Once again, Temasek Polytechnic Open House 2024 will be taking place from 4 to 6 January and free shuttle bus services between Temasek Poly and Our Tampines Hub will be available during this period — so no reason to not head down! More details on TP’s open house can be found here.
