Here are the 10 best fragrances for The Eras Tour to match your favourite Taylor Swift album

by Jermina

Calling all Swifties! With The Eras Tour coming soon, have you thought of your concert fit yet?

Here’s something to consider — perfumes and body scents! Personally, I believe that it ties in perfectly with your outfit of the night (and it leaves you smelling good throughout the day).

Well, good news. We have specially selected 10 fragrances to wear at The Eras Tour. Each scent matches a specific album that Taylor Swift has released ever since her debut. Although some of these may be rather pricey, it’ll be totally worth the enchanted night (anything for Taylor, am I right?).

With these selections, we promise you’ll never go out of style!

1. Taylor Swift (2006)

Photo: @tswifterastour/twitter

The Taylor Swift album, which is filled with sweet nostalgia and bright memories, first introduced us to the shy girl-next-door who makes country music.

You can channel those vibes with the Bvlgari’s Eau Parfumee cologne spray (S$149). The unisex scent contains extracts of green tea blended with lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, lemon, orange blossom and more (the list goes on!).

With countless floral notes and fresh citrus blended together, it parallels the start of her promising journey. There will be no teardrops left on my guitar if I wore this fragrance to the eras tour tied together with a smile.

2. Fearless (2008)

But she wears short skirts, I wear T-shirts, She’s cheer captain, and I’m on the bleachers

Remember that scene in You Belong With Me when Taylor had a glamorous make-over at the end of the music video? This album preserves the refreshing mood from the previous album whilst embodying some girl boss moments.

Hibiscus by Zara (S$26.90) is a clean and elegant scent that brings something new to the table. At the heart of the fragrances, peony flowers are wrapped in the fruity, exotic and colourful facets of mango and passion fruit.

If you wear it to the eras tour, you might find your own love story and Romeo on a white horse (minus the tragic ending, of course).

3. Speak Now (2010)

As Taylor transitions from adolescence into adulthood, she releases the Speak Now album — a bittersweet departful from her youthful past. She reminisces about past relationships, mean comments and her rising popularity.

I wished I could have added Wonderstruck (Taylor’s own fragrance) to this list but unfortunately, it has been discontinued. If I could go back to December in 2011, I would definitely purchase countless bottles of it.

Luckily, I am not the kind of girl to gatekeep things.

All I can say is I was enchanted to find Vera Wang’s Pink princess perfume (S$54.90). It carries similar fragrances to Wonderstruck like raspberry, honeysuckle and hibiscus, ending off with a white amber base (perfect for the eras tour).

This is the perfect dupe for those looking to replace their Wonderstruck perfume. Put this on and watch sparks fly at the eras tour.

4. Red (2012)

I don’t know about you but I’m feeling 22

Red is one of those albums that gave us many iconic hits like 22, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together and I Knew You Were Trouble. Filled with heartbreaks, passion and drama, Taylor grew stronger in the face of adversities even though everything has changed.

But you keep my old scarf from that very first week, Cause it reminds you of innocence, And it smells like me

I don’t know what innocence smells like but Kayali’s Lovefest burning cherry perfume (S$49) might be the closest thing. It carries hypnotic notes of burning cherry, succulent raspberries and irresistible guaiac wood.

A dramatic transformation from the Speak Now era but I think it perfectly encapsulates the rising success of Taylor’s stardom.

5. 1989 (2014)

Photo: @taylorswift13/twitter

1989 was the year that Taylor made the word ‘squad’ cool again.

Taylor surprised us with a cinematic masterpiece as she released the Bad Blood music video. Bringing together a star-studded cast like Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Gigi Hadid, Cara Delevingne and more — anyone else lowkey wished it got turned into a movie?

Nice to meet you, where you been? I could show you incredible things.

Inspired by Taylor’s move to New York, girl squad and bob hair makeover, we’re adding Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel (S$205). With mimosa, ylang ylang, white musk and Turkish rose, it carries the essence of a bold and free woman free to reinvent herself.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that mimosa and white musk could be fragrances for the eras tour. Wear this scent and get ready to shake it off with Taylor.

6. Reputation (2017)

Are you ready for it?

Reputation is one of the albums that I was most excited to share about. The biggest reason being that it is a huge transformation from her previous albums.

We see Taylor don a more edgy and seductive look, swapping her iconic bright red lip for a rich oxblood instead. She also uses many snake motifs in her videos, dress(es) and tours.

You might even call it her redemption era.

The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama and it doesn’t get more dramatic than YSL’s Black opium (S$194)!  It contains electrifying black coffee notes combined with the assertive femininity of the jasmine sambac and absolu fleur d’oranger. A ground-breaking combination to suit Taylor’s charismatic and daring image.

Also, did I mention the bottle is gorgeous

7. Lover (2019)

If reputation had black cat energy, Lover totally embodies golden retriever energy.

In this album, Taylor moved on from a cruel summer and presented herself in a vulnerable light as she shared about moving past her struggles and regaining confidence.

To match her growth, the synth-pop album is filled with a much brighter and cheerful outlook like You Need to Calm Down.  It’s one of the fragrances I would totally wear for the eras tour.

Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?

I promise that you’ll never find another like Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf (S$133). It explodes with scents of jasmine and rosebuds and accented by a comforting vanilla. It’s perfect for any floral lover(s). Totally fitting for the light-hearted and timeless album and if you want to smell like Miss Americana herself.

8. folklore (2020)

I think I’ve seen this film before, and I didn’t like the ending.

The only good thing that came out during the pandemic was folklore. Inspired by a quiet and melancholy summer, Taylor retreats to the woods with her old cardigan and adopts a cottage core aesthetic.

She explores folklore inspired narratives that are driven by escapism and romanticism — this is me trying not to make my tears ricochet whenever I play exile (feat. Bon Iver).

Gucci’s Memoire (S$232) is the 1 as it contains top notes of Roman chamomile and bitter almond. Most importantly, it has sandalwood and cedarwood that lasts through the day. It’s a gentle and calming woodsy musk that suits practically everyone

9. evermore (2020)

Photo: @tswifterastour/twitter

Released less than five months after folklore, evermore felt like a natural progression and sister-album. It is without a doubt that the themes of seclusion from its predecessor would naturally continue in this.

Choosing to wander deeper into the forest of the music, she explores the tragedies and epic tales of love lost in one’s life. It also got us wondering, who is Dorothea? We need closure

Drop your conspiracy theories!

Long story short, the gender-neutral Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt Cologne (S$201) is composed of ambrette seed, sea salt and sage, along with red algae. It provides the feeling of being surrounded by fresh pine and crisp morning air. A natural scent perfect for evermore’s winter vibes.

10. Midnights (2022)

Midnights are for all you night owls or insomniacs. Taylor ironically releases the titles of each song in the wee hours on TikTok, inspired by her own sleepless nights using cryptic messages.

This is probably the most self-reflective album out of the others. Filled with anxieties, self-doubts and regrets, Taylor managed to change what most of us would’ve, could’ve, should’ve experience into something magical (truly a mastermind

It’s me, hi, I’m the problem, it’s me.

The Martin Margiela’s Jazz club maison (S$125) hits different as it has middle notes of rum and clary sage alongside vanilla bean and neroli. It’s definitely a more mature scent but it works for men and women and if you want a bejeweled night.

With these 10 scents, best believe when you walk in the room, you will make the whole place shimmer.
