TRIFECTA Singapore opens in Orchard with the world’s first surf, snow and skate facility, an in-house cafe, exclusive merch, & more

There’s already plenty to do in Orchard Road, but come 28 October 2023, the popular shopping belt is gonna welcome a cool and sporty new tenant. You’ll soon be able to do more than just shop and eat in town. Think: surf, skate, and snow.

Located in Somerset, TRIFECTA Singapore will be the world’s first surf, snow, and skate attraction. If you love snow sports like skiing and snowboarding, or even surfing, then we reckon you’ll be spending a lot of your free time here. The team behind this multi-sport arena is none other than the folks from The Ride Side — you can rest assured that the pros here will take great care of you.

TRIFECTA houses three different arenas, namely — surf, snow, and skate — and there are classes organised here too, great for those who are looking to pick up a new sport or even beginners who are trying out board sports for the first time.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, you can actually do snow activities here. Well, sorta. While you might not find real snow here, TRIFECTA’s Snow Arena uses state-of-the-art technology to simulate the actual terrain and conditions you would encounter when you partake in these winter sports.

The “snow carpet” at the snow arena works like a treadmill so that you get the momentum of sliding down a snowy mountain. If you’ve got a winter holiday coming up and don’t want to look like a complete noob, you can get your head start here.

Don’t worry as the space is super beginner friendly and the instructors are very patient. The tracks come with safety bars for you to hold on for support while you master the basics. The carpet can go up to 35km/h, but for beginners, you’ll mostly be hovering at 10km/h — for safety reasons of course.

All I can say is, snowboarding looks a lot easier than it really is. You’ll also be working your thighs a lot, so I hope you’re ready for an intense thigh workout. There’s also a separate slope for jibbing — something the pro snowboarders will enjoy. There’s even a slope for you to do cool backflips before landing on an airbag.

Who would have thought that you’d be able to surf  — like actually ride some waves — on Orchard Road? Well thanks to TRIFECTA’s Surf Arena, now you can, and the waves here are endless. Pro surfers no longer have to travel out of Singapore to catch some waves as the waves here can fetch a height of up to 1.5 metres.

The 9.34m surf pool is powered by 11 powerful pumps which pushes out water at high speeds to create waves that feel almost like an ocean wave — so you’ll really be getting the full pro-surfing experience here. The best part is the arena is completely sheltered so rain or shine, you’ll still be able to carry on without the weather ruining your plans!

Just like the “snowy slopes” in the snow arena, safety bars can be added across the pool to help beginners (like myself) find their balance and have extra support when balancing on the boards.

Fun fact: TRIFECTA is actually conveniently located beside Somerset Skate Park. While Somerset Skate Park has ramps for skaters to skate down, TRIFECTA’s skate arena has a skate bowl for skaters who are looking for a more adrenaline inducing ride.

The skate bowl does look a little intimidating, especially to someone who does not skate. But while it might look super scary, it is actually made for both varying skill levels. The skate bowl is also the world’s first hybrid skate bowl that caters to both skating and surf skating.

If you’re not adventurous enough to try the spots, the arenas are also open to the public so you can pop by and watch other people in action — and maybe feel inspired to give one of the sports a go! If you’re looking to try out any of the sports, you can register for a membership on the spot too.

Otherwise, you can always hop over to the in-house cafe, Butter, for some hearty bagels and refreshing drinks. The cafe is run by the popular Two Man Bagel House — so you definitely know that the food is gonna be super yummy.
