Bae.gal has affordable and colourful chewy bagels in sweet and savoury flavours like spicy Korean chicken, snow crab mentaiko, peanut mochi & more

Bagels have been all the rage for the longest time now. Here’s a bagel spot that serves some hearty bagels with a slight Asian twist. Bae.gal specialises in pretty bagels that come in different colours like pink, yellow, purple, and even green — and yes, they’re all safe for consumption.

Bae.gal’s first outlet is located in Century Square in Tampines (East side best side?) and is run by local bakery Swee Heng — the same folks behind the viral colourful loaded sando joint San.Wich. Much like the colourful sandwiches, the bagels here are also made with natural ingredients like pumpkin, purple sweet potato, beetroot, tomato, and more.

Apart from quirky colours, the bagels are also soft and chewy — which are signs of a good bagel. They also come loaded with ingredients like kimchi, fried chicken patty, and even crab meat. However, the store functions as a takeaway only kiosk, but don’t worry the bagels are packed nicely and can be easily gobbled down on the go.

If you love a good hearty bagel, you should definitely give these a try. They come in unique flavours like Spicy Korean Chicken with Egg & Kimchi (S$3.20), Chicken Cutlet with Egg & Cheese (S$3.20), Snow Crab Mentaiko (S$4.20), and more. Garlic lovers must definitely give the Garlic Cream Cheese Bagel (S$3.60) — I definitely have my eyes on that one.

The best thing about bagels, they pair well with both sweet and savoury fillings. If you’re craving for something sweet, go for the Peanut Mochi Bagel (S$3.40) or Kaya Peanut Pandan Bagel (S$3.40). Other unique bagel flavours include Mango Yuzu (S$3.20), Peach Cream Cheese (S$3.20), Taro Pudding (S$3.20), and Taiwan Yam & Purple Sweet Potato (S$3.40).

There’s also a selection of pre-packed bagels with equally unique flavours for you to try too. To make things even sweeter, there’s an assortment of sauces available at S$0.80 for you to pair with your bagels including a unique strawberry sauce as well as a Biscoff sauce — I love biscoff so I’ll definitely be getting that for sure.

Bae.gal currently only has one outlet in Tampines, but seeing how quickly their sister branch San.Wich expanded, I’m pretty sure there’ll be more outlets to come! Bae.gal is currently not halal certified but they are awaiting their halal certification.

Will Bae.gal reignite your love for bagels?
