Some of us take up fitness classes as hobbies, others bake. But there are also Singaporeans out there who pass the time by seeking out the less-visited — some might even say abandoned — places around the island, ever mindful to take only photographs of the places, and nothing more.
One particular Instagram account, @abandonedsingapore, documents their explorations around lesser-known spaces so that you can virtually “travel” through these fascinating scenes and admire them from afar without the harrowing experience of creaky floors or the risk of trespassing.
Do note that the admin of the account does not disclose the locations of the places they visit as not every location is suitable for the public. And as with all things in nature, leaving these abandoned spots as they are is vital in ensuring that they stay in the condition that’s meant for them as far as possible.
