Prior to the lockdowns, I loved going to Johor Bahru (JB) regularly for my mani-pedis not only because of how affordable they are, but also because of the welcoming manicurists who will make recommendations and discuss nail designs with you just like your BFF. Some of them even go far and beyond and offer to bring you your favourite drinks while you get your nails done.
Being someone who is very particular about my manicures, I’ve done a fair bit of research to find out which nail salons in JB I can entrust my nails to.

Garden Nail Gallery is a nail salon that’s popular for their elegant Renaissance-vibe nails. The gold flakes, gentle colours and opal pieces used in many of their manicures doesn’t fail to make one feel truly regal and feminine. They also use cruelty-free nail polish, which is a huge plus point.

2. MADE Nail Studio
Walking into MADE Nail Studio is like walking into a pinterest board with it’s so aesthetic and cosy. The popular nail styles here lean towards more of a Korean ulzzang vibe with their blush tones, cute prints and rhinestones so if you’re trying to unleash your inner Song Ji Ah, this place will be perfect for you.

This is one that I’ve been really pining to visit. One of J Nail Closet’s unique selling points is that they incorporate dried flowers into your manicure. How dainty and feminine is that? With the lovely dried flowers, getting your mani-pedi here will definitely help you feel like a forest fairy.

5. DifNails Art Studio
DifNails Art Studio has a very youthful and girly feel with many of their nail designs. They’ve also seemed to have mastered the art of creating bold animal-print designs without making it look tacky (which is quite a feat) so there’s no qualms about the craftsmanship here for sure. If you’re into a more cutesy style, slap on some acrylic bows and bubblegum-colours and you’re ready to go.

Tiff’s Nail is known among many locals as a great place for quality manicures and excellent service thanks to the lady boss’ passion and enthusiasm. I get slightly iffy with trusting others to perfect hand-drawn nail art but this nail salon absolutely nails it. Do note that they don’t accept bookings on their social media pages, so make sure to call or Whatsapp them at their number provided.
