We got to explore most of these artworks at Marina Bay and Raffles Place ahead of the official opening on 5 June 2026, and found some pleasant surprises. If you’re wondering whether you should visit i Light Singapore 2026, we’ve got you covered.

Take a look at what we believe are the best photo spots and interactive installations at this year’s event, and decide for yourself if it’s worth heading down yourself.

Market Cycles

For context, we started our night walk at the Bayfront Event Space, located right outside the entrance to The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. Heading in the direction of the Red Dot Design Museum, one of the first installations we came across was Market Cycles by Singaporeans Tan Mei Yee and Ng Choon Wee.

This is a simple light art installation, made up of stacks of plastic crates you would see daily at wet markets. Yet, due to the way it is positioned, it provides many different angles for photos. Whether you prefer to be seated or standing, among the crates or in front of them, be creative and take your best shot! 

Let’s Fish the Sun!

Near to Market Cycles, at the Lower Boardwalk area, is probably one of the most interesting installations at i Light Singapore 2026. Let’s Fish the Sun! by Chinese artist Wentao Wang presents a Sun-like luminous orb that you can lift and lower. 

Visitors can do this by reeling in a device that resembles a giant fishing rod. As you lower or elevate the ‘Sun’, its light will change between deep reds and warm oranges. 

We expect that there will be queues lined up for this interactive artwork — because how often do you get to play with something like that? Beyond the interesting mechanics, you can also take photos and videos from multiple angles to create that optical illusion of you ‘fishing the Sun’.  

Infinite Graffiti 

If you haven’t already noticed, interaction is a huge focus for this year’s i Light Singapore, which is very fitting for its movement-inspired theme. And nothing shows this more than Infinite Graffiti from Canada.

This digital canvas allows anyone to grab a spray can and produce their own graffiti art without any physical paint involved. The technology is not just genius but responsive — it feels like you’re holding an actual spray can, pressing down an actual nozzle, while the paint follows your every move without delay.

The best part? Because it’s digital, you can always undo your mistakes or choose different colours and paint textures. A few people can also paint at the same time, filling up the wall with diverse creations. Once you’re done, you can even scan a QR code to download and keep your artwork for memories. 

RESONORA

Here’s another one we thought was interesting. RESONORA by OSTUDIO and Dearista Nooria Kusuma from Indonesia is an interactive installation that makes use of sound. It picks up sounds from the environment and turns them into light.

There is also a loudspeaker you can speak (or shout) into. Watch as your voice changes the lights and colours of the installation in real time, then walk through it to take some close-up photos.  

Sliced

Out of all the installations, we would argue that this is the one with the most cinematic photo opportunities. Stepping into Sliced, created by Encor Studio from Switzerland, puts you in a scene straight out of Dune and Interstellar. 

When taken at the right angles, your photos will make you look like you walked through a passage of time or a mysterious pyramid structure. Don’t miss this immersive art installation that just oozes aura.

Barbershop Wonderland

Barbershop Wonderland is exactly what it sounds like. This long series of tall, colourful, bright barbershop poles is just screaming for you to take photos with it. The creation of Jeon Byeong Sam from South Korea, this mesmerising light installation is located at Clifford Square and is hard to miss.

But this is more than just a light display — we were surprised to discover it is interactive too! These barbershop lights are equipped with sensors that detect movement and only activate momentarily when someone passes by.

Naturally, many of us, adults and kids included, ran along the row of lights to watch it light up one by one. Seeing the lights follow us was a fun and satisfying experience, and you should definitely try it. In terms of ‘play’ factor, this is up there with Infinite Graffiti.

Arch Flower

The final light art installation on our journey was Arch Flower. This artwork by Cyril Lancelin from France is inspired by the tropical gardens of Singapore. From afar, it looks like a flower. Close-up, it’s a gradient world of pink and green.

This is the only i Light Singapore 2026 art piece located at Raffles Place, specifically Raffles Place Park, so make sure not to miss it if you want to check off every installation on the itinerary. 

It is slightly further from the rest of the installations and just requires a short walk to get to, but is also conveniently located right outside Raffles Place MRT station. Perfect for those of you who need to travel via the North-South Line or East-West Line.

For those of you who are artsy, here is something for you! The annual i Light Singapore, Asia’s leading light festival, is returning from 5 June 2026 to 28 June 2026. Movement is the theme of this year’s event, with many of the light displays showcasing the expressive power of motion. 

There will be interactive installations such as Let’s Fish the Sun!, which lets visitors “reel in” the sun and reverse the sunset. You can also check out local artworks such as Steps by Nawal Bte Azhar, a glowing staircase that symbolises Singapore’s progress as a Nation.

Flower Market and JuJu World 

Catch Australian contemporary artist CJ Hendry bringing not one but two immersive installations to Singapore. From a larger-than-life Flower Market filled with plush blooms to the whimsical debut of JuJu World, visitors can look forward to stepping into two imaginative worlds unlike any other.

Taking over the West Lawn (beside Bayfront Plaza), the Flower Market installation will be filled with over 30 flower varieties. Enjoy Singapore-exclusive blooms such as the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim, Raffles’ Pitcher Plant, and Singapore Ginger Flower.

Following that, JuJu World will feature larger-than-life installations, immersive displays and limited-edition merchandise from 20 June 2026. Ticket and timing details will be released closer to the launch, so do keep a lookout!

Lazy Days with Dog & Frog

This illustrator is turning the universal experience of “doing nothing” into one of the most relatable art exhibits. Lazy Days with Dog & Frog by Niall Breen is debuting in Singapore from 29 May 2026 to 26 July 2026. The exhibition will take place at Heartware Store and Gallery, a cosy space tucked among the shophouses along Joo Chiat Road. 

Enjoy the artist’s raw depictions of life through his dog and frog characters— their idle chats, quiet musings on a lazy afternoon, or simply appreciating the mundane moments. Alongside artwork, there will also be exclusive merchandise and an artist talk by Niall Breen himself. Children’s Festival

Children’s Festival featuring Disney’s Winnie the Pooh is taking place from 30 May 2026 to 21 June 2026 at Supertree Grove. The festival is themed around the iconic bear and his friends, celebrating 100 years of friendships, curiosity, kindness, and the simple joys of life. 

There will be numerous themed installations for kids to explore, play, and take photos at. The Hundred Acre Glide, for example, will allow kids to go on Singapore’s first Winnie the Pooh-themed zipline. Other installations inspired by the different characters include The Sweetest Drops, The Joyful Puddle, and The Brave Logs. 

There will also be carnival games, a retail pop-up, and a cafe pop-up during the weekends, as well as an inflatable march with music and dancing on Saturdays. Furthermore, throughout the festival, children under 12 can enter the Flower Dome for free.

The Portals Experience 

Do you geek out about alternate universes, fictional worlds, and made-up characters? Or are you someone who just wishes you could go on an adventure in a medieval fantasy land or in outer space? Flower Market 

From 10 June 2026 to 14 June 2026, Cj Hendry’s Flower Market will be making its Southeast Asia debut at Gardens by the Bay.

Taking over the West Lawn (beside Bayfront Plaza), the installation will be filled up with tens of thousands of plush flowers, from classic blooms to Singapore exclusives. 

Served to blur the line between illusion and reality, Cj Hendry reimagines the traditional flower market experience on an extraordinary scale, inviting visitors to stroll through the arrays of colourful oversized blooms. 

Expect over 30 flower varieties, including Singapore-exclusive blooms — the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim, Raffles’ Pitcher Plant, and Singapore Ginger Flower.

Each entry is approximately one hour so you can take your time to wander through the vibrant sea of colours and pick out the blooms that speak to you. Best of all, every visitor gets to bring home a FREE oversized plush flower as a keepsake from the experience.

Entry is FREE as well, and if you want to build your own bouquet, additional stems are available for purchase at S$7 each. Do note that they only accept cashless payments.

While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend you to pre-register here. Children aged 12 and below do not need to pre-register and may attend when accompanied by an adult. For flower redemption, children must be accompanied by an adult and will be stamped to account for the redeemed flower.

JuJu World 

Following the Flower Market, Cj Hendry is also doing a JuJu World pop-up in Singapore from 20 June 2026 to 18 July 2026.

JuJu is a quirky bunny-like character that is instantly recognisable by its floppy ears and flower-covered eye. With its soft pastel palette and playful expression, JuJu strikes a balance between cute and eccentric, which has helped it build a devoted following among collectors.

Since its debut, JuJu has appeared in a growing range of collectibles, from blind box keychains to special themed releases. Each edition introduces new colours and designs, encouraging fans to collect different versions of the beloved character.

Making its Singapore debut, JuJu World will feature larger-than-life JuJu installations, immersive displays and limited-edition merchandise, giving visitors the opportunity to step into the whimsical world of the fan-favourite character.

Look out for the cheerful LEGO Botanicals Happy Plants and Rocking Plants displays nestled among the lush greenery, and do not forget to snap a photo with these playful creations.

Gardens of the World 

From 26 May to 30 August 2026, step into Canopy Park located on the topmost floor (level 5) and witness a space decked out with LEGO Botanicals and LEGO Icons collection. Here is where bricks meet bloom, with LEGO builds among topiary displays.

Source Pool

Continue your journey along the Play Wonderland, which has been transformed into a global horticultural trail inspired by the LEGO Icons ‘Gardens of the World’ series — celebrating the beauty of garden designs around the world. 

Find your moment of zen and unwind at the Source Pool, where a Japanese-inspired garden comes to life with a traditional Japanese house, water lilies, and koi fish intricately built from LEGO bricks — echoing the serenity of the LEGO Botanicals 10315 Tranquil Garden Set.

Foggy Bowls 

At Foggy Bowls, a Mediterranean-inspired setting comes to life with sunflowers, tulips and vine-draped pergolas inspired by the 10359 Fountain Garden Set. 

The journey concludes at the Petal Garden, where an English countryside scene featuring a cosy cottage and mushroom house evokes the charm of the 11372 Autumn Cottage Garden Set. Experience the golden hues of fall here and soak in the picturesque floral landscapes inspired by the beauty of nature. 

Stamp Rally 

To boost the fun, participate in a stamp rally from 26 May 2026 to 26 July 2026. It spans seven designated locations in Jewel, including Canopy Park. When you successfully collect all the stamps on the rally card, you can redeem a special souvenir at the LEGO pop-up store located at Basement 1, while stocks last.  

Visit the pop-up store and shop for popular LEGO sets. It features a wide selection of LEGO merchandise

You can also find giant LEGO builds, so remember to get your phones ready and snap photos of the displays available in store.

The Irish comics artist built a large social media following for his raw depictions of life through his dog and frog characters—whether it’s small interactions, quiet musings on a lazy afternoon, or simply appreciating the mundane moments. 

The exhibit invites viewers to appreciate life as it is, without the burden of proving their worth through productivity and accomplishments — a stark contrast to the Singaporean mindset. It reminds us to embrace the moments of lethargy and moody days, as it’s part and parcel of the human experience. 

The exhibition will take place at Heartware Store and Gallery, a cosy space tucked among the shophouses along Joo Chiat Road. Alongside the artworks, visitors can also look forward to exclusive merchandise and an artist talk by Niall Breen himself. Fans can even bring home a piece of the exhibition with woven throws featuring Niall Breen’s illustrations, available in two designs. However, stocks are limited, so move quickly if you want to snag one!

Furthermore, you can also glimpse into the creative mind of Niall Breen during the Artist Talk on 30 May 2026 from 3pm to 4pm. Flying in all the way from Ireland, this is a rare chance to hear directly from the artist himself. While registrations are already full, walk-ins are still welcome — though seats are limited and standing may be required.

If you’re looking for a slower, more reflective experience in Singapore’s fast-paced city life, Lazy Days with Dog & Frog offers a comforting reminder that its ok to just pause. Highlights 

The Garden by Sweet Tooth

You can’t miss The Garden by Sweet Tooth — a public installation that transforms The Arts House Lawn into a whimsical sensory playground. Wander through a colourful garden filled with oversized cacti and flowers, designed to spark curiosity, exploration, and imaginative play for little ones. Come curious and get ready for a monstrously fun day out with the family!

Journey West: Web of Deceit by Paper Monkey Theatre

Inspired by the beloved classic, Journey to the West, Web of Deceit by Paper Monkey Theatre is a lively and humorous performance. With an interesting twist, Master Tang and Piggy fall into the trap of a crafty Spider Demon who spins her web. You will be on the edge of your seat, witnessing whether Sun Wu Kong and Sandy can come up with an ingenious plan to save them.

Catch the performance at The Chamber (Level 2) at two time slots daily: 1.30pm – 2.30pm and 3.30pm – 4.30pm. Tickets are priced at S$5. Children aged 10 and below must be accompanied by an adult.

Monster Parade 

A crowd favourite — the Monster Parade brings Civic District to life in a colourful celebration of creativity and imagination from 4.30pm to 5pm daily. The parade begins at The Arts House Lawn with a surprise appearance from a tiny wandering mouse before making its way through Victoria Theatre’s Atrium and ending at Anderson Bridge.

Dress Up and Join the Fun 

What’s a monster parade without costumes? Dress up as your favourite Monstrous Fun character — Britney, Shelly, Daley, Riley, or Hailey — and join in the parade. From 4pm to 4.30pm daily, keep an eye out for Britney the Monster (the 3-eyed purple monster) roaming around the grounds and interacting with young visitors. You might be one of the few lucky participants who walk away with Crayola prizes worth over S$80.

Crayola Activity Booth 

On 30 May, The Arts House’s Foyer at Level 1 will have a FREE exclusive Crayola Activity Booth featuring specially designed Monstrous Fun colouring sheets. Grab your crayons, coloured pencils and markers, and get colouring. Allow your creativity to run free in the open space of the lawn.

Other Activities 

Beyond the main highlights, Monstrous Fun also features five FREE drop-in activities around The Arts House at the Old Parliament. The little ones can enjoy free face painting, interactive storytelling sessions like Words Come Alive!, and Sarah Lim’s Touch Wood! For more hands-on activities, there are also Monster Hunt and Magical Sweet Monsters: From Yuck To Yum! Workshop that encourages creativity and imaginative play.

The Arts House has lined up a series of Monstrous Fun programmes packed with interactive experiences and family-friendly fun. It is the perfect excuse to spend quality time together while stepping into a playful world where creativity takes centre stage.

This June, one of the world’s largest science fiction and fantasy collections is making its global debut right here in Singapore. The Portals Experience is different from other exhibitions in that it will focus mainly on physical displays, rather than digital ones. 

Whether you are a reader, gamer or movie fan — if you love the sci-fi and fantasy genres, you will feel right at home.

8 themed zones

At its core, the Portals Experience is a journey, and will bring you across eight different ‘realms’, featuring many recognisable works from the sci-fi and fantasy genres. And instead of looking at screens, you will be looking at physical, tangible pieces of artwork. 

This includes more than 300 original paintings from some of the world’s greatest creators and fictional universes. You will get to behold the brushstrokes that created epic sagas and beloved characters.

Beyond paintings, you will also get up close with around 10,000 hand-painted miniatures. This includes three dioramas, which will allow you to witness one of the world’s largest recreations of Atlantis, a sweeping fantasy battlefield, and a visionary sci-fi future. Fans of tabletop games will absolutely love this.

But you won’t just look at miniatures. As you walk from realm to realm, you will encounter larger-than-life installations and sets that were hand-crafted to fully immerse you. Spanning 13,000 square feet, this exhibition will take you around 60–90 minutes to explore.

Exclusive merchandise

To complete your journey and remember your adventure through the eight realms, you can also get a hold of rare prints, postcards, and other merchandise. Some of these are ultra-limited, up to 100 editions each, and signed by their respective artists. Make sure to visit early if you don’t want to miss these!

The Portals Experience will open its gates at Fever Exhibition Hall from 1 June 2026 to 2 September 2026. Standard admission tickets for adults cost S$26 on weekdays and S$30 on weekends, while children can enter for S$17 and S$20 respectively. Tickets for seniors are priced at S$22 and S$26.

The name of the store is derived from the Chinese words “陌” and “迹”, which mean “first impressions” and “lingering”, respectively. It highlights the café’s philosophy of being a space where people can slow down, find stillness, and soak in their environment. 

The 2-storey store is furnished with wood-panelled floors, windows and furniture, giving it a calming, earthy appearance. One of its most unique features is the display of beautiful, hand-crafted ceramic pieces, which are available for purchase. Each piece is intentionally modelled to represent seasons and festivals within the Chinese calendar.

Menu

Their menu is just as interesting, featuring a range of speciality coffees and desserts that are made fresh each day. Some signature drinks include Salted Cocoa Latte(S$12.80), Black Sesame Vienna(S$12.80), Hojicha Vienna(S$11.80), and more. 

Meanwhile, dessert selections feature inventive creations like the Cotton Cheesecake (S$12.80), presented in cheesecloth, resembling freshly strained cheese. Another interesting creation is its Soy Milk Cheesecake (S$14.80), which is a must-get if you’re a regular soy milk drinker. 

The Matcha Strawberry Cheesecake (S$15.80) also deserves the spotlight for its clean aesthetic, with fresh strawberries lining the cross-section, covered with an airy matcha mousse.

And the best part — you can pick out your own ceramic cup or plate for your food. This small interactive touch goes a long way in making the experience feel more personal and intimate.

If you’re looking for a meaningful escape from the city bustle, MOZmoji陌迹 is a refreshing experience to try. From its handcrafted tableware to its unique bakes and speciality drinks, the space is designed with intentionality, inviting you to appreciate the art and atmosphere while you dine. Interactive installations

One of the highlights of i Light Singapore 2026 is the interactive artworks and installations. Visitors are welcome not just to take photos of the captivating displays but also to be part of creating the art they see.

Let’s Fish the Sun!

One of the displays I would love to check out is Let’s Fish the Sun! by Wentao Wang, located at Marina Bay Lower Boardwalk. Apparently, you will be able to “reel in” the sun with a fishing rod and “reverse” the sunset. I guess this artwork is perfect for those of us who never wake up early enough to catch the sunrise.

Infinite Graffiti

It’s probably going to be chaotic if I get involved, since I can’t draw. But for those of you who can, Infinite Graffiti by Graffiti+ will be the perfect canvas to express your creativity. Well, even if you only think you can draw, just give it a try!

Located at the entrance of Marina Bay Link Mall, this five-metre-long digital graffiti wall is where visitors can use sensor-activated spray cans to create graffiti together according to their imagination.

Artwork by local design talents 

I am proud to ‘support local’ when it comes to appreciating the work of Singaporean creatives. Because who else can capture the Singapore spirit with art better than them? 

Steps

When walking along the Marina Boulevard waterfront during i Light Singapore 2026, be sure to keep a lookout for Steps by Nawal Bte Azhar. This set of glowing staircases symbolises Singapore’s progress and our nation’s continuing story.

Market Cycles

Another installation to explore is Market Cycles by Tan Mei Yee and Ng Choon Wee. Situated at the Mist Walk, this light display utilises everyday wet market plastic crates to form an immersive luminous artwork. Talk about finding beauty in the ordinary.

Festival Village 

GastroBeats 2026

In case you missed it, GastroBeats is making its return to Bayfront Event Space from 5 to 28 June as part of i Light Singapore’s festival village. Bringing together food, music and sports, this will be a great place to wind down, chill and dine after exploring i Light Singapore 2026.
