Cosy up with chow chows & chill out over hearty mains at Chill ‘N Chow Cafe in Johor Bahru from just S$4.40 per person

Singapore may be home to plenty of cat and dog cafes, but let’s face it, there are times when we’d rather make the trip over to Johor Bahru for our dose of adorable doggos.

Conveniently located in Mount Austin, right next to the popular Shi-ba Cafe, is Chill ‘N Chow Cafe, a dog cafe where you can hang out with one of the cutest dog breeds out there (in my opinion) — chow chows!

Housed on the second level of a shophouse unit above the restaurant Bon Appetit, the cafe is airy and spacious, with a proper dine-area and a separate play area for the dogs.

Tickets for one hour of playtime are priced at S$4.40 (RM15) per person on weekdays and S$5.88 (RM20) on weekends, inclusive of one free cup of coconut ice cream.

Do note that visitors must wear socks in order to enter the play area and interact with the dogs, but you can purchase a pair from the counter for S$0.88 (RM3).

At the time of writing, there are four cuddly chow chow puppies, Pudding, Donut, Mochi, and Waffle, to play with. We hear they’re super active, playful, and friendly, so dog lovers are in a for memorable time!

Seriously, how can anyone resist those floofy faces?

After all that fun, chill out at the cafe area over a selection of hearty mains, coffee, mocktails, and desserts — think exquisitely decorated cakes in flavours like Jasmine Matcha, Genmaicha Black Sesame, and Mango Passionfruit.

Your next JB getaway awaits, but with an extra adorable twist! And if you do visit, give these furry friends some extra pats for me, will you?

Editor’s Note:

We enjoy animal-related establishments as it gives us the opportunity to interact with our favourite animals – and as animal lovers, we can’t ignore the ethical issues that revolve around this. From animal cafes to pet shops and catteries, there are a wide range of ethical concerns when it comes to animal welfare such as the treatment of the animals, or ethical breeding at pet shops and catteries.

As we share some really great animal cafes, pet shops, catteries, and events featuring animals to visit, we strongly urge everyone to treat these animals gently, and if you have seen signs that the animals are not being well taken care of, please highlight it to us immediately.
