This multi-concept store is bringing more halal dining options to 313@Somerset’s Food Republic. Deelish brands — Singapore’s leading halal fast casual restaurant group — has launched its second multi-concept location, featuring offerings from 800 Degrees Pizza, Blimpie, and Buttrmilk

You can expect a curated menu of top-selling dishes like hand-pulled pizzas, hefty stuffed subs, as well as homemade fried chicken and waffles. The location is also the first open-concept kitchen which means you can watch your food being prepared before your very eyes.

First up, 800 Degrees Pizza (which also has an outlet in Paya Lebar) specialises in Neapolitan-style woodfired pizza, with pizza doughs that are freshly made in-house daily. The pizza boasts a thick crust, and while I personally prefer having thin crusts with my pizza, I enjoyed the crust here as it was soft and airy, with a slight crunch from the charred bits. You also won’t have to wait long to devour your pizza as it only takes four minutes to cook, thanks to its state-of-the-art conveyor oven

On the menu are some of the group’s signatures like the Classic Hawaiian (S$8.90) which comprises turkey ham and tomato on a Margherita base. We highly recommend the best-selling Tartufo pizza (S$15.90), a truffle-based pizza topped with mushroom, parmesan and arugula. The thought of having truffle anything might scare some people as it has a very strong aroma and flavour. But this truffle pizza had the right amount of truffle that was not too overpowering.

You can also find the world-famous sub chain, Blimpie, here, with some of its best-sellers, including the Cheddar and Ground Beef Sub (S$8.90), a must-try. Don’t be fooled by its appearance as it really packs a ton of flavour with its juicy ground beef and crunchy bits of onions. Another noteworthy mention is The Chicken Parmigiano (S$7.50) which sees a thick slice of chick patty drenched in a tangy tomato sauce.

The store will also feature a selection of savoury waffles courtesy of Buttrmilk. If you love having fried chicken and waffles, you definitely have to try the Buttrmilk Original (S$7.50) which stars a crispy fried chicken sandwiched between a thick and fluffy buttermilk waffle, served with a side of maple syrup. The chicken is marinated for 24 hours with a secret recipe of herbs and spices, and it really pairs wonderfully with the sweet buttermilk waffle.

If you’re up for something with a more complex flavour, you can try the Jalapeno Cheddar Waffle (S$5.90) which on its own bears a very strong taste of jalapeno peppers. However, when paired with the chicken and drizzled with some maple syrup, it made for a pretty unique combination — a mix of spicy, sweet, and savoury.
