For many of us, EZ-Link really was the OG when it comes to contactless payments. Back before we were armed with credit cards and paywave, our EZ-Link cards were our first experience with making contactless payments — gone are the days when we had to dig for coins to pay for our bus rides.
While we’re all familiar with using our EZ-Link and Concession cards to pay for our transportation rides, did you know that you can use your EZ-Link card to pay for some of your favourite everyday items too?
That’s right, we’re talking about getting your bubble tea fix, snacks and even paying for meals — how cool is that?
You read that right, in case you didn’t know, you can now use your EZ-Link card to pay for your favourite bubble tea drinks from KOI and Gongcha. You can now enjoy your favourite drinks without having to worry about loose change or if the place accepts paywave. Honestly, this has to be my favourite feature for sure!
That’s not all, you can even use EZ-Link to make payments at fast food restaurants like McDonald’s, KFC and more. If you’re feeling a little boujee, you can even use your EZ-Link to pay for your meals at fancier restaurants like Astons.
Other F&B merchants include iJooz and Coca Cola Vending Machines, 7-Eleven, Cheers and more. You can even use EZ-Link contactless payment at selected coffee shops around the island. The full list of participating merchants can be found here.
Apart from paying for food and drinks, you can also use your EZ-Link card to pay for your shopping when you shop at places like Decathlon — yes, even I was surprised to find this on the list of merchants.
Did you know that you can also earn reward points when you use your EZ-Link card to make payments? Simply pair your card with the EZ-Link app and start earning your reward points.
Every S$0.10 spent using EZ-Link will earn you one reward point and you can use those points to redeem deals and discount vouchers from the in-app rewards ranging from lifestyle to F&B, beauty and so much more!
You can even use the app to make top-ups on-the-go, track your transactions, and even block your card in the event that you lose it. And yes, in case you’re wondering, these functions work for the EZ-Link charms too!
