China is opening the world’s largest indoor ski resort, Huafu Ice and Snow World, in Shenzhen. The resort will surpass Harbin’s Wanda Indoor Ski Resort, which is currently one of China’s largest ski resorts.
The exterior of the ski resort was constructed to resemble a blue whale leaping from the water.

The sleek cyberpunk aesthetic with expansive LED screens wrapped around the facade of the building illuminates the striking and unique architectural concept of Huafu Ice and Snow World.
Huafu Ice and Snow World spans across 100,000 square metres of indoor snow terrain, which amounts to about 11 football fields.

For thrill seekers, the ski runs are up to 441 metres long, inclusive of an 83-metre vertical drop, simulating mountain skiing.

The craziest thing is that they even have five international Ski and Snowboard Federation certified competition-level slopes.
Temperatures here are purposefully kept at negative six degrees all year round, so make sure to dress warmly when you’re visiting.

If you’re more of a leisure skier, the ski destination also has various terrain parks, snow play zones, and more for all skill levels.
Still not a fan of skiing? Huafu Snow and Ice World has a 33 metre suspended ice waterfall, which doubles as an indoor diving facility, maintained at 28 degrees for surfing. The facility also features a rock climbing wall, cycling tracks, and more (ugh, I need a vacation).
If you’ve ever had the chance to ski, you’d know just how tiring it is. A JW Marriott hotel will be integrated into the FUNMIX Zone of Huafu Ice and Snow World, so you could definitely stay for the night.

The zone will also feature retail, and dining options so you won’t have to venture far away for food or shopping.
Huafu Ice and Snow World is located 35 minutes from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, and strategically located next to Shenzhen World Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the Shenzhen Waterlands.

The ski resort will also host training camps for youth winter games, where champion coaches hailing from domestic and international regions will train winter sports enthusiasts of all skill levels.
All my adrenaline junkies, should we book a trip to Shenzhen now?
