IKEA is celebrating its 15th anniversary serving the East of Singapore since the iconic Tampines building first popped up. IKEA has become such a huge hit in Singapore that their 3rd outlet opening last year at JEM was met with long queues even amidst a pandemic.
But despite its popularity, how many of us Singaporeans actually know how to pronounce “IKEA” correctly even after so many years? Instead of letting us confuse ourselves and butcher the beautiful Swedish language, IKEA has come up with a nifty graphic educating us on the correct pronunciation and *drum roll*…
IKEA is actually pronounced as “EE-KAY-UH” not “EE-KIA” as many of our parents would put it or “AI-KAY-UH” that’s more popular amongst younger people.
They’ve also highlighted other fun facts like how we’ve already consumed a whopping 1.3 million of their sinful chicken wings at IKEA Tampines this year — 15th year serving the East of Singapore and still as popular as ever!
But other than that what other stuff do they have lined up for their big 15? For one, you can expect 15% off selected furniture ranges daily, up to 50% off selected IKEA products, and offers on some of your favourite IKEA eats from 21 Oct 2021 to 24 Oct 2021 across all 3 IKEA stores.
For the gluttons, 15th anniversary offers means you can get some of IKEA Singapore’s popular items at a discount including Crunch Almond Cake (S$1.50) from its U.P. of S$3.50 and the new Blueberry Banana Ice Cream (S$1.50) from its U.P. of S$2 at the swanky new Swedish Bistro takeaway kiosk.
Meatball lovers can also try their Plant Balls (15pcs) with a Soup for only S$15 and see how it stacks up against their signature dish.
That’s not all for food though — there will also be special IKEA Donuts (S$2.50/4pcs) that’s dressed up in their trademark blue with striking yellow sprinkles. All the food offers for IKEA Singapore’s 15th anniversary are while stocks last.
Besides filling your tummy with all their satisfying treats, IKEA will also have 15% off furniture such as Bed Frames, Work Desks, Work Chairs, and Sofas at all 3 outlets. Go here to see what bargains you can use to give your house a nice makeover.
For those who always wanted to snag some IKEA merch to show off your undying love for the Swedish brand, IKEA is giving away free swag specially made for their 15th anniversary in Singapore.
It’s not just available at IKEA Tampines, their unique pop-art inspired tote bag can be redeemed at all 3 stores. The bags will be limited to the first 150 redemptions per store per day, at 1 piece per customer. While stocks last.
