There’s already so many fun things to do in Malaysia like shopping, visiting pet cafes, hitting the go-karting tracks, and of course indulging in some of the best foods.

But of course, these days, no outing is complete without a trip to a photo studio. This art studio in Petaling Jaya takes a very creative spin on your regular photobooth experience.

Mew Movement is an art studio in Kuala Lumpur with a very unique photobooth. We’re all very well-versed and extremely familiar with how a self-photo studio works.

However, unlike your regular Mew Movement offers something a little different. Instead of your regular goofy and quirky photo strips, here, you’ll get hand-illustrated portraitskinda like a caricature drawing of sorts.

The portraits are hand-drawn by the owners on the spot and you can get it in as soon as 15 minuteshow cool is that?

And in case you’re wondering, yes since it is hand-drawn, you do have to hold your pose for the entire 15-minutes. But don’t worry, it will all be worth it once you see the final product.

The hand-drawn portraits here come complete with colour and you’ll also look less cartoon-ish. I really have to say that the artists are super talented and the final product does look pretty impressive.

The best part is, you can turn this into a group activity too, just like a regular photobooth, and each picture costs just S$4.30 (RM15)super value for money.

Apart from getting your portraits drawn, you can also send your future self a little postcard — kinda like a time capsule. You can send yourself or a loved one a birthday card or little handwritten surprise.

To do this, all you gotta do is to purchase any quirky postcard of your choice and pay an additional postage fee of S$1.43 (RM5) for international destinations.

Mew Movement also has cute and quirky oil paintings, original acrylic, Gouache and more for those of you who are looking to give your home a pop of colour and some personality.

If you do drop by, make sure to pick up some of their adorable stickers and enamel pins. Fun fact: the items are all drawn by the owners themselves too — the artistically-challenged me could never.

Planning a trip to KL over the weekend? Make sure to head down to get your hand-drawn portrait!
