Ask any Potterhead and they will tell you that their biggest dream is to walk the halls of Hogwarts — the school that birth wizards like Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermoine Granger, and more.
So, calling all wizards, witches and potterheads, time to pack your bags and head to this Harry Potter-themed Airbnb in Kuala Lumpur to live out your wildest dreams!
Located in Petaling Jaya, the apartment has two bedrooms, five beds and two-and-a-half bathrooms, and can accommodate up to five people. For those who find the real Wizarding World in the UK a little bit far (and expensive), this Wizarding World Suite is certainly a great alternative and provides an equally enchanting experience.
From the moment you walk through the door, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported into the magical fictional land of Harry Potter. The entire space is adorned with all things Harry Potter including the respective house flags, letters, cauldrons, candle sticks, potion bottles, a (magical) broomstick and more!
You’ll even see pictures of some of the greatest wizards — including Professor Dumbledore. But nothing screams Harry Potter more than the iconic 9 ¾ platform with a real trolley sticking out of the wall, and that’s exactly what will be greeting you by the door as you walk in.
Speaking of being magical, you can actually cast spells in the house — just say “Hey Siri, Lumos Maxima” to turn the lights on. What a quirky feature that lets you pretend that you’re a wizard. What really caught my attention was the shelf of potions. As a kid, I would always imagine that I was a master wizard concocting my own magical potion so seeing this really made my inner child super excited.
Moving on to the dining room, AKA Hogwarts’ Great Hall, where you’ll get to eat where the young wizards ate. The room is fitted with a six-person dining table complete with floating candles and badges of the four Hogwarts houses. Food made by house elves might not appear on your table, but at least it’ll make for a pretty magical and memorable dining experience.
As for the bedroom, it has been modelled after the cosy Gryffindor dorm. And yes, you can still sleep in here if you are not from the house of Gryffindor. Even the bathroom is decked out in Harry Potter-themed memorabilia like the infamous ‘wanted’ sign so you can turn your regular mirror selfie into a wanted poster.
One night at the Wizarding World Suites will set you back approximately S$112 per night, depending on the date of your stay. Just about S$100 per night to live your wizarding dreams? Yes please!
