Yes, we have seen a rise in modern cafes and hidden gems in Johor Bahru popping up on our FYPs or Instagram feed nowadays. However Mollylicious Bakes is not just any cafe, and you’ll see why in a bit.
Just a little ways from the Malaysian side of the checkpoint, Mollylicious Bakes is super convenient to reach and find.
Of course the first thing you will notice is its significant interior. Its design boasts a quirky blend of grey concrete walls accentuated by splashes of a modern and sleek black.
There is also a New York-loft style red brick wall on one side of the cafe, adding a touch of cosiness and warmth while you dine.
That is not all though!
When I saw the amount of natural lighting that Mollylicious Bakes has from its tall glass windows, I was blown away. Honestly, the Gen Zs are going to eat this one up and I can already see them flocking over, given how IG-worthy parts the entire cafe is.
And come to think of it, no cafe is complete without its food.
In addition to its industrial theme and grunge interior, Mollylicious Bake also has delectable desserts that match its pretty aesthetics.
The cake itself does not only look pretty and IG-worthy, it tastes amazing too. After all, it’s hard to go wrong with the combination of cheese and matcha.
Or even cutting into their famous Tiramisu, which looks even more decadent by the way.
Mollylicious Bakes also has a very cute Fresh Cream Puppy Cake that is unique and looks almost too adorable to eat!
Perhaps the most signature on their menu is their pizzas. With eight pizzas to choose, from Hawaiian to a cheese-only topping, you’ll be able to enjoy the variety of flavours at any time.
A wise person once said it’s not a party without pizza, and this rings true at Mollylicious Bakes.
I mean just look at how hearty that pizza is with generous amounts of cheese and toppings, as well as a well-baked smooth crust. Just looking at it already makes me hungry and I can almost taste it.
With refreshing beverages, sweet desserts, and heartier pizzas, combined with a unique aesthetic, Mollylicious Bakes is definitely a hidden gem and one to make a pit stop at the next time you cross the border.
