Those well acquainted with the Korean food scene in Singapore will know that Tanjong Pagar is the place to be for your quick soon dubu or Korean BBQ fix. The even more enthused will recognise Kko Kko Na Ra as a fan favourite, boasting a menu selection that’s so diverse, I’m convinced you can come back once a week and still never run out of dishes to try. Now, they’ve opened a rooftop bar concept called My Patio, featuring a beer garden that looks like something straight out of Itaewon.
Chill ambience
The open-air rooftop area is furnished with colourful metal chairs, wood-heavy tables, and lots of greenery to make the place feel as comfortable as comfortable gets. When night falls, watch the space light up with the help of fairy lights that are draped from frame to frame, dousing the whole beer garden in a chill, warm atmosphere.
Beers & Korean street bites
Here, you’ll be able to enjoy a rotating selection of rover 40 unique beers, so it’s time to grab your drinking pals because there’s work to be done. To go along with your drinks, you can also find the usual Korean Street food at My Patio, including fried chicken — the better half of the iconic Korean duo, ‘chimaek’, or chicken and maekju (beer in Korean).
Choose from Kko Kko Na Ra’s iconic selection of fried chicken flavours such as Original Crispy (from S$20), Soy Garlic (from S$20), Cheese Sprinkle (S$35), amongst other delicious flavours. Otherwise, other great bar bites also include the Kimchi Pancake (S$22) and Spicy Rice Cake Tteok Bokki (S$25) to pinch at in between drinks.
If you’re lucky and come around evening, you might even be able to catch a gorgeous sunset along Tanjong Pagar while knocking back ice cold beers.
As the place is still in its soft launch phase, you may book at table via Whatsapp here for your slice of Itaewon.
