Date night doesn’t always have to be buying your significant other a gift and going out for a special dinner (not forgetting a cup of bubble tea to end the day course).
Sometimes, however, simplicity is the best. It can be nice to take time out and chill with your partner.
If you’re thinking of switching things up this year, we’ve compiled a list of games for couples that you can play on the Nintendo Switch (and you don’t even have to step out of the house!).
1. Fall Guys
Fall Guys is a free multiplayer game which features wacky adorable bean-shaped characters. The aim of the game is simple — to be the last man standing in every obstacle course.
This absurdly chaotic game is sure to create tears of laughter as you watch your characters compete with one another to the finish line whilst trying not to get pushed overboard.

2. Pocket Pool: Complete Edition
You may have played pool before, but have you ever played at a banana or watermelon-shaped pool table?
Pocket Pool: Complete Edition may look simple at first but the intricate grooves and details of each table make the game more challenging yet exciting.
They have up to 75 unique, creative levels matched with colourful graphics. Some levels include additional challenges such as spinning poles and extra objects to spice up the game.

3. Untitled Goose Game
Untitled Goose Game lets you and your partner role-play as two silly geese, waddling around and wreaking havoc amongst the town (it’s literally the two of you against the world).
This is one of my favourite games from the Nintendo Switch as couples get to venture into the high street shops in town filled with the townspeople or the village green where you’ll find the farmer’s carefully tended crops.
Unleash both of your inner chaos as you’ll be tasked with mini pranks like stealing the groundskeeper’s keys or pulling the plants out.
And if that’s not enough, each goose has a dedicated honk button to make your presence (or should I say annoyance) known.

4. Ibb & Obb
Put your relationship to the test in Ibb & Obb as gravity divides the both of you by a horizontal line. You’ll either have gravity in your favour or find yourself on the other side where everything is inverted and confusing.
Go through 15 levels filled with double gravity puzzles and explore the hidden worlds. That said, this game will be a true test of your teamwork and strengthen your connection.

5. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes
Spice things up with Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes — filled with a tense, fast-paced and nerve-wrecking atmosphere. It may be slightly challenging as the game requires close communication where each player will have a specific role.
One of you’ll be in charge of defusing the ticking time bomb whilst the other deciphers and gives instructions from the Bomb Defusal Manual. Work fast as time is of the essence!
It’s definitely different compared to the other couple games on the Nintendo Switch but at least you’ll come out with better communication skills (or so we hope).

6. Everybody 1-2 Switch!
Everybody 1-2 Switch! on the Nintendo consists of a fun mix of physical and mental games that you can get through fairly quickly if you’re a couple that gets bored easily.
UFOs have the fastest fingers following the rhythmic motions in order to summon the aliens and win.
Knock out your opponent with Hip Bump and end it off with a round of Quiz Party to test your general knowledge and ability to answer fast.

7. Cat Cafe Manager
If you and your partner are planning to co-own some fur babies in the future, Cat Cafe Manager is your opportunity to experience what it would be like.
Remember Diner Dash? It’s similar but with a lot of stray cats instead.
Transform the run-down cafe into a safe haven for your feline friends and fill it with some wholesome vibes. Keep your cafe running by enticing the villagers with custom recipes and cute decor.
It’s one of those couple games on Nintendo Switch that requires your time but with the right catitude, anything is pawsible.

8. Just Dance 2024

9. Moving Out 2
For all of the couples who are waiting (or have already gotten) their BTO, packing and moving is something that you’ll inevitably have to go through.
Moving Out 2, however, brings a whole new twist to moving.
As a newly certified Furniture Arrangement & Relocation Technician (ironically called the Smooth Moves) moving jobs might get a little crazy. You’ll have to get creative with things like tossing out the furniture through the window.
As you progress further, go from working at mainstream suburbs to frenzied farms and haunted houses.

There’s something so amusing watching animals perform human tasks and Keywe is no exception.
