Origin Grill has a limited-time Sunday Brunch with all-you-can-eat options like eggs benedict with avo and crab, foie gras toast and truffle mac & cheese

I consider brunching one of my all-time favourite pastimes. As Origin Grill puts it, it’s the “perfect combination of breakfast, lunch, and booze”.

The restaurant, located at Shangri-La Singapore, is currently having an exquisite Sunday brunch experience that is available every Sunday, from 11.30am–2.30pm.

Brunch-goers can dig into elevated brunch classics, starting with Small Plates, which you can order and eat as much as you like.

How can one say no to unlimited servings of Seabass Ceviche, Pork Rilette with Grilled Walnut Bread, and Sweetcorn Soup with Spanner Crabmeat?

My dining partner enjoyed the indulgent Foie Gras Toast with truffle and pear chutney — a dish she obviously had to order seconds of.

As for the more “comfort food” options, the rich Truffle Mac and Cheese was also a favourite of ours. I enjoyed the sweet-savoury profile of the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Waffle with chipotle hollandaise and maple syrup, but the waffle was way too dense and doughy.

Afterwards, move on to the selection of Benedicts, which are also all-you-can-eat. They’re all topped with perfectly oozy poached eggs, with options ranging from the Classic Egg Benedict to the Avocado Benedict, which combines creamy avocado with edamame, lime zest, and crispy crostini.

I especially loved the Crab Cake Benedict, which subsitutes the usual English muffin or toast with a crab cake, topped off with sauteed kale, a poached egg, bisque hollandaise, and ikura.

If you’re feeling extra splurge-y, why not fork out an additional S$22 for the Lobster Benedict, which sees the same components as the Crab Cake Benedict, but with grilled sourdough and half a butter-poached Boston lobster tail?

While we’re on the topic of seafood, you can also brunch extra hard by ordering a round of Seasonal Oysters (+S$32 for half dozen) that need nothing more than a little mignonette and a squeeze of lemon.

The Big Plates, or mains, are not free-flow, so each diner gets to choose one.

In keeping with the whole “Sunday brunch” theme, we opted for the Josper Grilled Steak and Egg, which is accompanied by chimichurri, grilled Roma tomato, herb-roasted potatoes, onion jus, and your choice of a fried or poached egg. You’ll have to top up a little extra, depending on your preferred cut of beef, and we opted for the 150g Stockyard Black Angus Ribeye (+S$28) grilled medium rare.

Otherwise, take your pick from an array of mains like the Confit Duck Leg, BBQ Bangalow Pork Ribs, Butternut Pumpkin Risotto, and Josper Grilled Seabass.

As for dessert, there are three Sweet Plates to choose from, so be sure to leave room for them!

Autumnal flavours take center stage in the Tarte Tatin, a caramelised sweet apple tuille adorned with honeycomb chunks and honey croissant, but if you’re a chocoholic, the indulgent 66% Chocolate Flan and vanilla gelato will leave you swooning.

This Sunday Brunch is priced at S$98++ per person, but feel free to add on the free-flow beverage package (S$88++ per person), which includes a curated Kir Royale with champagne and house-made liqueur infused with a variety of fruits and florals, alongside Veuve Clicquot champagne and a selection of wines and spirits.

After all, if there’s one thing better than brunch, it’s a boozy brunch.
