We’ve covered plenty of affordable DIY arts and crafts in Johor Bahru including tufting and beauty products. But we haven’t covered Plateau, a DIY studio that will allow you to personalise every item you can think of — from shirts and hoodies to bags and notebooks — from just S$2.90!
Plateau is located less than 20 minutes away from the Johor Bahru checkpoint, with highly customisable options from printing your own images to requesting for their in-house designer to create one for you.
You’ll be able to create your dream item in just four simple steps. Step one, choose your item and size. The items are subject to availability, but you can find canvas notebooks, linen and canvas bags, as well as tops to choose from.
For those looking to customise clothing, there are over 10 colours and styles like shirts, hoodies, crop tops and more to pick from.
Prices range from S$22.92 to S$28.73 (RM79 to RM99) for different styles of clothing, with one big sticker and two small stickers included. If you are looking to refashion some of your plain old clothing, you can bring it to the studio for S$4.35 (RM15) per piece.
And that leads us into step two — choosing your stickers.
Take your pick from over 1000 stickers available at the studio. There are embroidery patches, vinyl stickers and more with cartoon characters, texts and icons. Of course, you can even choose to print your own heat-transfer stickers.
Print a cute photo of your pet in A6 for S$2.90 (RM10) or go wild with your best friend’s unglams in A4 at S$8.71 (RM30). However, you have to remember to send in your images to the studio at least three days before collection.
Step three: arrange your stickers however you like, and lastly, fix them into place with the heat press to complete your personalised item.
If you can’t find the time to head down to Johor Bahru, you can opt for postage instead. An additional S$2.32 (RM8) will be tacked onto your sticker order for international postage. Essentially, you’ll be customising your item without leaving your house for S$5.22.
But, there’s also no stopping you from customising your own item for less than S$3 by collecting your sticker order on your next trip to JB!
Honestly, it’s an amazing deal if you ask me. A word of caution, however: without a heat press machine, you’ll have to wrangle with an iron at home to get your stickers on to your desired item and run the risk of damaging your sticker and item.
I would recommend bringing your item of choice to Plateau. Who knows, you might even find some delightful stickers among their collection that would complement your masterpiece.
To learn more about how to place an order for custom stickers, check out their website here. Walk-ins are accepted for customers who are looking to DIY their clothing or item with Plateau’s huge collection of stickers.
The studio doubles as a cafe and art workshop as well, offering workshops on plaster bandage art, epoxy resin decor and more from S$34.82 (RM120). You can learn more about the available classes and make an appointment here.
Time to get creative and make your items uniquely yours with Plateau’s lovely stickers!
