I don’t know about you but I love taking long leisure walks just to clear my head and reconnect with my inner peace. Whether you’re looking for some peace and quiet, or need to fulfil your new year’s resolution of leading a healthier lifestyle, we have a new route for you to check out.
The new Rail Corridor (South) stretches over 1.6ha space and is located between The Metropolis and Elemetum in Buona Vista. This is also the first node along the Southern section of the Rail Corridor which spans Holland Road to Tanjong Pagar.
Some exciting new facilities you can expect to check out during your evening stroll include a children’s playground with elements that will send the little ones jumping, climbing, crawling, sliding and more — the inner child in me is already excited to check this out.
For the adults and seniors, there’s an exercise corner just for you filled with equipment that can help you get moving.
There will also be a 900sqm Plug-and-Play space under the North Buona Vista which you can use to conduct group work out activities like HIIT or Zumba — if you’re that kind of person. The area will also have water and power plugs for you to do your workout and stay hydrated after.
If you’re looking for an open space to do some yoga or tai chi, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a 500sqm community lawn that serves as a flexible events space.
As you explore the Rail Corridor (South), make sure to keep a lookout for the interesting flora and fauna planted throughout the trail. You might even see some familiar creatures along the way — just be mindful of them and don’t provoke them.
Currently, about 21km of the Rail Corridor is open to the public, with the remaining 3km to be unveiled in phases. The Buona Vista node is also conveniently located near Buona Vista MRT so you can hop over to The Star Vista to grab a bite before continuing on your way.
Other places you can explore while you stroll along the Rail Corridor include The Rail Mall and HillV 2, amongst others.
