Everyone can’t resist some good taro desserts, with Cafe Lilac and The French Pastry drawing enthusiastic customers and even Johor Bahru’s The Blue Door Coffee House going viral for their oozy taro croissants despite specialising in coffee.

Shang Pin Hotpot is known for their unique, trendy takes to your typical hotpot menu, so it’s no surprise that they too would offer everyone’s favourite dessert — a huge, stretchy Taro Mochi (S$9.80) bucket!

Shang Pin Hotpot has even included their popular bingsu as a base within the densely packed bucket of taro and mochi, making it a refreshing, chewy and fragrant treat. Dig past the generous toppings of taro balls and you can also find some chunks of taro hidden within.

The ingredients are freshly made to order each day, and you can choose to dine in or takeaway. Shang Pin Hotpot is exclusively offering the Taro Mochi dessert at their Marina Square outlet, but that’s not the only exclusive item available there!

They have more IG-worthy desserts served in golden hotpots at Marina Square. Try the Milk Tea Pot which comes with chewy glutinous rice balls, taro balls, grass jelly, red beans and more. They also offer normal boba milk tea if you’re feeling too stuffed from the meal to stomach a Milk Tea Pot.

Don’t forget about the Korean-inspired bingsu in Oreo and Strawberry flavours that had netizens clamouring for Shang Pin Hotpot to open a dedicated dessert outlet. Discover a delightful surprise in the strawberry bingsu beyond the rainbow sprinkles and oreos – each scoop reveals hidden taro balls and red beans for an extra treat!

Other than the classic soup bases like tomato, Shang Pin Hotpot also offers some novel flavours like Golden Pumpkin Chicken and their signature Sichuan soup base.

All things considered, Shang Pin Hotpot is definitely worth checking out, even if it’s just for their Taro Mochi bucket and unique desserts!
