Singapore’s largest nocturnal experience, the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) 2025 is back for the 16th time. From 22nd August to 6th September 2025, SNF will feature over 80 immersive and innovative experiences across the Bras Basah-Bugis district.
The recurring event’s theme in 2025 is Island Nights, helmed by HeritageSG. It celebrates SG60 by diving into our sunny island’s rich heritage and exploring the ties that connect us to islands all over the world.
Island Nights will be headlined by Sky Castle at Cathay Green (tickets at S$5 per entry) and Kampong Chill at Capitol Singapore.
Sky Castle is a dreamy, interactive installation that features a cluster of inflatable arches that spans across a public area in a colourful symphony. Light, colour, and music have been carefully orchestrated to evoke the joy and hope that rainbows bring after a storm.
Another highlight of the festival is Kampong Chill, a space designed to encourage reflection and stillness. The exhibit is a rebellion against the overwhelmingly busy lifestyles of metropolitans. It is intended for participants to place greater emphasis on the little moments, connections and leisure time, amidst their busy lives.
Projected exhibits include MOSAIC at the National Museum of Singapore, which explores astronomical phenomena, navigation, and island journeys through blending video mapping and music in an immersive spectacle.
Island Waters immerses viewers in the exploration of underwater realms, highlighting the profound connections between human and marine life.
Night Lights exhibits include CYBERSWORDFISH V2.0: From Myth to Megabytes, which is inspired by the ancient legend of Singapura Dilanggar Todak.
This exhibit introduces a reimagined sculpture of the invading swordfish, the main characters of the mythology, as formidable cyberpunk creatures.
Interestingly, the urban swordfish is meticulously crafted from e-waste, such as cracked screens, frayed wires and recovered digital pieces.
