Tamago-EN brings viral Tokyo fried sandwiches to SG with flavours including Tiramisu, Curried Shakshuka and more

You’ve probably seen Tokyo’s viral fried sandwiches from Age.3 GINZA on TikTok — videos of fried golden bread slit open and stuffed with ingredients.

You no longer need to travel to Japan to taste them, as the beloved Japanese egg specialty restaurant chain Tamago-EN is bringing them directly to you.

Using fried Japanese shokupan and their signature fresh Okinawa eggs, Tamago-EN’s fried sandwiches, or Tama-Sandos, are available in nine sweet and savoury flavours.

I’d run if I were you to try the Tama-Sandos. That’s because from 30 June 2025 to 2 July 2025, you can buy one and get one free Tama-Sando

Limited to the first 50 customers daily, note that the free item will be the one of lower value and is takeaway only

While I’d love to delve into each sandwich in detail, I’ll save you my babbling and spotlight my top few.

On the sweet side, an unexpected favourite for me was the White Peach Sando (S$5.50). The light cream paired well with the refreshing peach cubes, which exploded with sweetness.

Another sweet flavour you have to try is the Strawberry Sando (S$5.50). Fresh strawberry cream is topped with more fresh strawberries and a mixed berry sauce here.

The result? It was akin to licking a melted strawberry ice cream that was surprisingly not as cloying as I’d expected.

Moving on to the savoury flavours, the Chicken Nanban Sando (S$5.90) is loaded with chunky karaage, savoury nanban sauce, and fresh lettuce.

Unfortunately, the chicken was a little dry with a slightly weak nanban flavour. Despite that, the meat remained tender.

The Curried Shakshuka Sando (S$5.50) is the saucier of the two, with rich curried shakshuka sauce and moreish meat, making for a warm and comforting sandwich I couldn’t stop returning to.

You can never go wrong with a classic egg salad sandwich, and Tamago-EN nailed it down to the T.

The Egg Salad Sando (S$5.50) may not be packed with meat, but the overflowing, creamy Japanese egg salad was just as flavourful and hearty.

Other flavours you can try include the Plain Sando (S$3.50), Tiramisu Sando (S$5.50), Crème Brûlée Sando (S$5.50), and the Beef Steak Sando (S$7.90).

Are you egg-cited to try Tamogo-EN’s Tama-Sandos?
