The British may not exactly have tried their best to defend Singapore against the Japanese invading forces in 1942.
But have you ever wondered if they did? If so, to what extent will they go to gain the upper hand?
Battlebox, alongside Super Productions and Theatre of Wonder, has thought of this and came up with an immersive theatrical horror scenario where that extent involves something dark and supernatural.
Held on selected nights from 25 September to 3 November 2024, ‘Underground: The Summoning’ will thrust you into a World War II bunker under Fort Canning Hill.
As the soldiers have turned to the demon lord of war — Bellum — for help, you already know you’re in trouble. Especially when Bellum and his minions are a bloodthirsty bunch and killing off the Japanese military isn’t enough.
In groups of eight to nine people, you’ll have to work alongside others to survive and escape the grasp of the evil forces. Y’all will traverse various interactive segments and live performances filled with special effects.
All that while monsters are chasing you down as part of their twisted games. It’ll surely be a horror experience like no other.
If you suffer from claustrophobia, you’ll feel like you’re in hell itself as you’ll be 20 feet below the ground in a cramped and dark space (good luck).
I guess it goes without saying that the event isn’t the most appropriate for children under the age of 13.
Early bird tickets are now out until 1 September 2024, priced at S$60 per person or S$53 per person for groups of four or more.
The show runs multiple sessions from 6:30pm to 9:30pm, each lasting about 45 minutes. Be sure to arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get the lowdown before the madness begins!
Grab your tickets here.
And, yes, the bunker is air-conditioned (or else we’ll literally die from the heat and poor air circulation).
Ready to scream your way through?
