After a three-year pandemic hiatus, Affordable Art Fair returns to the art marketplace with over 1000 original contemporary artworks from 80 local and international galleries. From scenic oil canvases, pop culture paintings, stunning fun-sized sculptures to unique workshops, there’s something for everyone at the fair, taking place at the F1 Pit Building from 18 to 20 November.
Socialise and unwind with art in an Arty-Licious Evening, a night of art workshops, art installations, and good food. Make your own Adam & Eve Life drawings and create your own coaster, and end the night with some food and admire the unique artworks.
As with the title of the fair, art pieces are available from art galleries like A Gallery Limited (Hong Kong), with works like Sven Pfrommer’s Seaflower and Joe Suzuki’s Happy Accident Series. With 80 galleries exhibiting unique art and plenty of artwork to choose from, you definitely won’t be heading home empty-handed!
Free public workshops will also be available, featuring a variety of different mediums like Rangoli art, Chinese ink painting, landscape acrylic painting, and more unique, free workshops. These workshops will be conducted by established artists who will guide you to create your own piece!
For the little ones, there’s Art Wonderland, a whimsical space where your kids can touch and play with artworks, a stark contrast to the “see, not touch” environment in most museum galleries. This paid workshop (S$25) gives the kids an interactive tour of the gallery, and the chance to create their own mixed media sculptures.
Art installations and performances complement the fair, where you can view an augmented-reality dance installation by virtual dancers, watch a visual performance on death, waste, and neglect, see an installation on chronic illness, & more thought-provoking installations.
The Affordable Art Fair promises nothing over S$15,000, so come on down, explore various artworks and workshops, and immerse yourself in art.
