However, the space has been closed over the past 3 months for a refurbishment. But now, there’s good news for those of you who’ve missed the food options here. Food Opera at ION Orchard is reopening on 28 September 2026 with 18 new brands and a refreshed concept!

Amongst the brands, some are making their first foray into a food atrium like Food Opera. These stalls have either made a name for themselves or have built up long queues of loyal customers at their original locations.

These include Berempah Bros, founded by MasterChef Singapore Season 2 winner Derek Cheong, and Chef Lup Roasted, which has a popular flagship stall at Golden Mile Food Centre.

Other stalls at this refreshed Food Opera come from decades of heritage and experience. Highlights include First Street Fried Prawn Noodles and Ming Chung White Lor Mee. 

The former is known for its signature fried Hokkien Mee with 38 years of legacy, now helmed by a second-generation owner. The latter has 93 years of history and is well-loved by many local personalities for its wok-cooked braised noodles in a rich gravy.

Diners can also expect to see familiar names at Food Opera. I am personally excited for the arrival of Swee Choon Tim Sum Express, the famous dim sum establishment that is actually one of Singapore’s oldest.

Another thing to look forward to at the reopened Food Opera is a fresh dining experience. The food atrium’s name truly comes to life, especially with live culinary showcases that diners can watch at selected times throughout the day.

Look out for the well-known LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles, where you will see fishballs and fish dumplings hand-made the traditional way, and Toast Box, where you will see live roasting.

The refreshed food hall also now has a dedicated retail and lifestyle concept known as Orchid Gallery. Here, diners and visitors can bring a taste of Singapore back home. I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to checking out Food Opera again the next time I’m at Orchard!

Both G-DRAGON and McDonald’s are icons in their own right — one in the K-pop universe, the other in the fast food world. But what exactly does such a collaboration look like? Keep reading to find out what to expect, starting 1 October 2026 at McDonald’s outlets across Singapore!

Spicy Bulgogi Chicken & more

As with any up-and-coming K-pop acts, fans look forward to their debut. It’s the same for this collaboration. The highlight is the debut of the Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Burger.

I know what you’re thinking. “That looks exactly like a McSpicy!” But beneath its familiar-looking exterior, what you will sink your teeth into is spicy, crispy chicken glazed with sweet & spicy bulgogi sauce. The burger is also available in Single and Double options.

From 1 October, 11am onwards, the purchase of every Spicy Bulgogi Chicken meal (from S$9.95 for Single and S$13.70 for Double) comes with 1 mystery photocard. There are 3 designs in total, and they are given at random, so you’ll have to try a couple of times to get all variants. G-DRAGON fans, take note!

Other than the Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Burger, the Bulgogi Beef Burger will also be available from 1 October. I know what you’re thinking again. That’s not a Samurai Burger! Those juicy beef patties are paired with the same sweet-spicy bulgogi sauce in the Spicy Bulgogi Chicken Burger. Extra Value Meals start at S$9.50 for Single and S$12.30 for Double.

K-pop fans are usually excited for new debuts, but they are equally or even more excited for comebacks of their favourite groups and artistes. Well, some McDonald’s favourites are making a comeback with the new menu too!

First up, Hershey’s Soft Serve series is returning with its Cone, McFlurry, and Hot Fudge Sundae. These indulgent, slightly “sinful” desserts are available from S$1.70, starting 1 October.

And from 15 October 2026, the popular Spicy Chicken McNuggets will be back too! 6-pc Extra Value Meals for these hot bites are available from S$8.30.

If you thought that was all to the collaboration between G-DRAGON and McDonald’s Singapore, think again! As part of this special partnership, limited-edition PEACEMINUSONE merchandise will also be available starting 8 October, 11am.

Celestial Nights: Mid-Autumn Edition 2026

For a different take on the Mid-Autumn festivities, head to Science Centre Singapore, where Celestial Nights: Mid-Autumn Edition 2026 will take place. This reimagined celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival will have a few activities you and your family can look forward to.

If you’d like a good view of the moon, there’s arguably no better place than Science Centre Singapore. Those who bought tickets previously will be able to view the moon through a telescope at The Observatory.

Didn’t manage to secure your spot? Fret not. Head to the Water Lily Pavilion for a clear view or join the Celestial Trail for a free, illuminated night walk between Science Centre Singapore and Japanese Garden. 

Along the way, you will find mini-exhibitions, cosmic displays and light installations. On the actual day of the Mid-Autumn Festival on 25 September, there will also be live acoustic performances happening from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Talk about pure atmosphere. The Celestial Trail is open from 19 to 27 September 2026. Register for free here.

While you’re outdoors, look out for F&B pop-ups where you can recharge with some food and drinks. Free White Rabbit ice cream is also up for grabs!

For something even more immersive, you might be interested in checking out the Digital Planetarium Show at the Omni-Theatre. Titled Moon Legends: From Myth to Mission, the show will take you on a journey through lunar exploration, ancient folklore, and modern space missions.

Lights by the Lake 2026

When it comes to yearly Mid-Autumn festivities, we have to talk about Jurong Lake Gardens’ Lights by the Lake. The annual light-up returns this year with a theme centred around the Legend of the White Snake. 

As usual, you can expect to walk among Lantern Displays and glowing scenes that will transport you into a classic Chinese tale. From the Lakeside Field to the Cloud Pagoda to the Chinese Garden and more, witness larger-than-life installations you will want photos with.

The Cloud Pagoda Light Show is also making a return and will play every night until 27 September 2026, from 7.30pm to 10pm with 30-minute intervals.

While you’re exploring Jurong Lake Gardens, you might find yourself hungry at some point. Head over to the festive food market at Lakeside Garden, which will be packed with bites featuring local and international flavours.

There are also carnival games to enjoy and lanterns for you to take on your stroll! On the weekend of 26 & 27 September 2026, the fun expands to bouncy castles, where kids can unleash all their energy. Definitely drop by this food market if you’re planning a visit!

Jurong Point Food Feastival: Momiji Matsuri Edition

Westies are truly blessed this Mid-Autumn Festival season. It can’t be helped when there are so many themed events to look forward to in the area! But we promise there is more for all of you who don’t stay in the west.

Back in the west, Jurong Point is hosting Food Feastival, a collection of Mid-Autumn fairs and themed markets. Running from 7 August 2026 to 1 November 2026, the event sees a rotation of fairs every few weeks.

Currently, you will find a Mid-Autumn Fair at the JP1 Centre Stage, running till 25 September 2026. Here, you can shop for mooncakes from hotels and speciality bakeries. Those who spend at least S$228 in a single receipt or across 3 combined receipts will receive a complimentary 2-piece bowl and chopsticks set worth S$29.90.

The festivities don’t stop once the Mid-Autumn Festival is over, though. Shoppers can also look forward to the Isetan Momiji Matsuri Fair from 6 to 18 October 2026. This Japan-themed food fair will feature more than 20 vendors offering Japanese street food, seafood, seasonal specialities, and more.

If there is any other place known for its festival-themed light-ups and events in Singapore, it would have to be Gardens by the Bay. From now till 27 September 2026, the gardens have been transformed into a land of glow, magic, and wonder. 

For those who want a stroll through nature with family and friends, look no further. Lantern Displays will be up every night from 6pm to 10pm, at spots like Dragonfly Lake and Supertree Grove.

Beyond the light installations, Supertree Grove will also be home to a bustling marketplace. Carnival games, family-friendly rides, and a delicious range of food and drinks will be available for visitors to explore.

Sanrio characters Moonlit Garden at VivoCity

At another corner of Singapore, VivoCity is also buzzing with Mid-Autumn festivities. If you’re a fan of Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Kuromi, and Cinnamoroll, you will definitely have lots of fun here.

The new concept allows you to build your own cup with any of your favourite toppings from a selection of 12, ranging from Korean snacks to nuts and sweets, over tofu gelato, available only at Waterway Point and Suntec City outlets.

The selection goes beyond the usual topping staples. Instead, it is inspired by the Korean snack aisle with Injeolmi, Joripong, and Yakgwa, alongside 5 variations of nuts, dried cranberries, marshmallows, puffed rice, and tempeh chips for a mouthful of texture and crunch. 

Simply order a cup of gelato in any flavour for S$8 – Original Tofu, High-Protein Tofu, Black Sesame, Pomegranate, Pistachio, or Chocolate. For an additional S$2, you can mix and match any of the toppings at the toppings bar during one visit. A fully loaded cup with no weighing or counting required comes to S$10, regardless of how much you add to your gelato. 

Not sure where to start? Every topping at the station comes with a suggested gelato pairing, so you’ll never be stuck guessing. Our personal favourites were the Yakgwa, which went well with the Promegrante flavour, and the Joripong with the High-Protein Tofu. 

Apart from gelato, both outlets also carry Tofu Pudding (S$6) in 3 flavours: Original Tofu, Pistachio, and Black Sesame; Tofu Tiramisu (S$10) in Injeolmi, Cocoa, and Matcha; and Butter Tteok (S$9), which we recommend in the Injeolmi flavour! These are great options for takeaways or desserts to bring for a potluck gathering.

This experience is like a journey through Japan’s seasons, while exploring the harmony between Japanese tradition and Western pastry. Inspired by a floating dessert popularised in Tokyo, Maison Yoshoku uses magnetic levitation to present desserts in mid-air.

Pick your journey from either the 3-course (S$25), 5-course (S$35), or 7-course (S$45) – whichever suits your appetite (and curiosity). Out of the 7 creations, here are our top 3 favourite desserts. 

Natsukashii

Inspired by traditional Japanese sweets, Natsukashii celebrates the comforting flavours of Kinako, Kuromitsu, and Peanut cream cheese mousse. Each bite delivers richness, creamy layers, and an unmistakable taste of nostalgia. 

Suika no Natsu

Every summer calls for watermelon slices to beat the heat. Suika no Natsu has beautifully interpreted summer through seasonal ingredients, where freshness, sweetness, and elegance come together. The simplicity of watermelon is elevated with Watermelon, Coconut foam, Sago pearls, and finely shaved Kakigori. 

Yuzu no Kasumi

If refreshing had a flavour, it’ll be Yuzu no Kasumi. Nitrogen-frozen Yuzu meringue meets Yuzu Kosho sorbet, revelling in the essence of Japanese Citrus. 

Grand Opening Promotion 

Great news for your wallet and your taste buds – Maison Yoshoku is offering a 1-for-1 promotion on Hitsumabushi Lunch (11.30am to 2pm) and the contemporary Yoshoku Dinner Menu (6pm to 10pm), from 26 to 28 September 2026. The perfect excuse to finally try that floating dessert omakase, too.

Here are a few dinner picks worth trying – a selection of modern Yoshoku dishes and Izakaya-style plates. 

First Bites

Sashimi fans, you’ve got to try the Trevally Crudo (S$24), paired with house-made yuzu ponzu, wasabi oil for that nice kick, and heirloom tomatoes. 

The Foie Gras Monaka (S$14) appears tiny, but the flavour profile is mighty, with foie gras ganache between crisp wafers. Given how rich the flavour is, we’d suggest splitting the wafer in half and sharing it between 2 for the best experience.

Big Plates

We tried the Maison Yoshoku Bouillabaisse (S$34), a Japanese take on French seafood stew paired with sourdough bread. Our personal favourite was the Grilled Half Spring Chicken (S$35) served with truffle tare and pumpkin wedges, and Kurobuta Rosu Yaki (S$36), succulent, deeply robust, and naturally flavourful.
