This fragrance shop in Bangkok lets you DIY your very own herbal inhaler, on top of offering over 200 scents for body mists, diffusers, car perfumes and many more

If there’s one thing Thai people can’t leave without (aside from their globally beloved cuisine, of course), it’s no doubt aromatherapy inhalers.

Or, as we affectionately call them, ‘Thai inhalers,’ because we believe in giving credit where it’s due.

The thing is, it’s no longer a product just loved by Thai folks alone. From tourists casually visiting the Land of Smiles to a regular office girl living in Singapore (aka me), everyone can’t seem to get enough of this magical tube.

Most people may associate inhalers with that green tube (you know what I’m talking about), mostly thanks to Thailand’s Kpop princess — Lisa of BLACKPINK.

However, what if I were to tell you that you can finally build your own inhaler from scratch? From the ingredients and scent profile to the packaging and design, your inhaler can provide portable relief just the way you like it.

First Aid Kiss – House of Scents and Beauty is a fragrance retail workshop in Bangkok that not only carries more than 200 local-based perfume brands but also makes DIY inhalers a reality.

Their Herbal DIY Inhaler service (S$33.87/899 baht) comes with three small jars weighing 25 grams each and 1 jumbo jar per person.

When I say jumbo, I’m talking humongous to the point that you might not need another inhaler ever again.

You’ll get to fill the jars with the ingredients you want. They’ve a wide selection including menthol, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and camphor. Since each ingredient offers a specific benefit, you can select them based on your wellness needs.

Once you’ve chosen your desired ingredients, you’ll have to blend them all together in a mortar and pestle. It’s an old-school method but it gets the job done and it’s a staple in every Thai home (they really do be patriotic, huh?).

Pour your concoction inside the jars before adding in drops of your favourite scents. There’s coconut, peach, sakura and many more.

Based on videos online, there doesn’t seem to be a limit on how many scents you can choose, so I’d say feel free to go crazy (just not too crazy as an overbearing scent combination will do more harm than good).

You’ll officially be done once you decorate your jug with markers, stickers and other stationeries — all provided conveniently in-store!

Aside from inhalers, First Aid Kiss also has DIY Car Perfume, Perfume Wax Melt, Perfume Body Mist, Diffuser and Perfume Balm workshops.

If you go down to their Thonglor outlet, you can sit and relax at their pharmacy-themed First Aid Kiss Cafe once you’re done with your session.

What would your signature blend be?
