Any Easties looking for a spot to hang out, rest, and indulge? Here is your sign to visit the newly revamped FOR YOU Cafe! Previously named the To:You Cafe, FOR YOU Cafe has made a comeback with a new name and, more importantly, a new menu.

Immediately recognisable from its dark forest green-painted entrance and minimalistic interior, you’ll find a cosy and quiet environment inside this hideaway. Perfect for a solo brunch or coffee date with friends, you’ll be spoiled for choice thanks to their new menu and dessert selection.

Among the all-day brunches, start with the Mentaiko Tamago Sandos (S$18), which comprises a crunchy house white loaf wrapped around panko-fried tamago, topped with torched mentaiko sauce. Additionally, judging by the presentation of the dish, it’s no wonder that this menu is a favourite.

Apart from this innovative meal, you’ll be able to find classic brunches like Eggs Benedict and their For You Breakfast platter.

As for the rice bowls, typical bowls like the Mentaiko Salmon Don (S$22) and Chicken Karaage Don (S$16) are available, as well as unconventional dons. For example, For You Cafe’s Salmon Ochazuke (S$22) contains the expected grilled salmon and tamago cubes, but is paired with torched short-grain rice and green tea broth

Other than Japanese rice bowls, their newest Mushroom Miso Risotto (S$18) is also worth a try as it includes plump arborio rice, miso cream sauce, and an oozing sous vide egg

The main page that caught our eye, however, was the cafe range of fusion udon and noodles, standing out in terms of being the trendiest. Starting with the Creamy Matcha Udon (S$26), explore how this brunch spot is able to fuse grilled unagi, silky udon, and the all-time trendy matcha cream into a well-blended bite.

The Creamy Truffle Udon (S$24), on the other hand, has udon noodles submerged in truffle dashi cream, Japanese shimeiji mushrooms, then topped off with sous vide egg and aromatic parmesan. For fans of strong flavours like truffle, this dish will hit the spot.

If you’re looking for sweet treats to satisfy your sweet tooth instead, FOR YOU Cafe is also full of signature desserts and new inventive pastries.

Notable confections include the Dark Matcha Brownie (S$4.80) garnished with warm matcha ganache and crumble; Assorted Madeleines (S$3.80) with seasonal flavours, and their signature Double Chocolate Cookie (S$3). These finger foods also cost less than S$5 per piece, making them perfect to order while waiting for a friend or when you’re looking for a sweet treat to end the meal.

Of course, heavier desserts are also available, such as their best-selling Shibuya Toast の Pistachio (S$14) and Matcha Lava (S$13). With thick pistachio custard piped on top of thick caramelised home-baked toast, the Shibuya Toast の Pistachio is best shared among a group.

On the contrary, the Matcha Lava can be finished alone despite its gooey azuki lava cake base supporting a scoop of sea salt uji matcha gelato

FOR YOU Cafe is also pet-friendly thanks to its outdoor seating area, but do take note that there is no menu available specifically for pets.
