We see plenty of dogs in Singapore, but it’s probably quite uncommon to see large breeds like the Bernese mountain dog, Alaskan malamute, Afghan hound and so on (especially with the strict HDB restrictions).
So where do we go if we want to get some snuggles in with the likes of these gentle giants? Luckily for us, HOME by Tales of Paws — a dog and cat cafe with a variety of these unique and gorgeous breeds is just across the border.
Located in Johor Bahru, HOME by Tales of Paws is a unique dog and cat cafe with over 20 of these big doggos (spanning across more than 10 breeds!) as well as over 30 fluffy kitties.
For those of you who haven’t interacted with bigger dogs much, this would be the perfect place to start as the dogs have all been through proper training and are extremely obedient and gentle despite their size (which can be intimidating to some!).
When you’re done cuddling up to the furry giants on the first floor, make your way to the second floor where you’ll find the cat section which is essentially a kitty paradise with all sorts of different lovable breeds like munchkin, British shorthair, ragdolls and more.
As compared to the dog section of the cafe, this part will be much quieter as the cats are the epitome of chill — so it’s perfect for when you want to have a peaceful and lazy afternoon while still enjoying the company of some furry friends.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a cafe without some good food! At HOME by Tales of Paws, you’ll also find some delicious mains like pasta and salmon and small bites like french fries and so on. The dining part of the cafe is also separate from the dog and cat sections to ensure a safe and hygienic environment — plus points for that!
