Everyone knows that Tanjong Pagar is renowned as Singapore’s Korean Street. Although this stretch constantly welcomes new eateries, did you know that this neighbourhood has been home to an authentic Korean restaurant for more than 15 years?
At Kko Kko Na Ra, this authentic spot prides itself on being one of the most established Korean restaurants in Tanjong Pagar since 2008, and here’s what makes them so special!

Apart from being the original restaurant to introduce Korean Soy Garlic Chicken to Singapore, Kko Kko Na Ra is also filled with rare yet authentic dishes.
For example, their stews not only consist of the common beef stew or kimchi stew, but also Sogogi Yukgaejang (S$25), a slow-cooked stew comprising shredded beef and hearty radish broth. When it comes to their meat, the restaurant lives up to its name, serving Beef Intestines (S$30), with an additional 10% off your meat when you grill your own meat! In terms of seafood, the restaurant offers uncommon dishes like Soy-marinated Grilled Abalone (S$38), Sauteed Clams in Rice Wine (S$40), and even seven kinds of crab dishes.

If the prices of Korean restaurants seem a little intimidating, Kko Kko Na Ra has you covered with their affordable lunch sets. If we were to recommend a set, it would have to be their S$20 Ramyun Set, originally worth S$35—consisting of one ramyun, one kimbap, and coffee. For groups of three or more eating out together, their buy-2-get-1-free soup offer is a great option in terms of value.
Another perk of this bustling eatery is that it stays open till 1am every day, making it the Korean supper spot. Perfect for late-night drinks, Kko Kko Na Ra serves a large variety of colourful cocktails, Korean alcohol, and creative alcohol combinations.

Among their alcohol offerings, the Green Grape Soju (S$36) and Fresh Orange Soju (S$34) are great starters before moving on to the harder liquors. Similar to a Yakult-soju mix, the fresh fruit soju is mixed just the same, but with fruit juice instead.
The one drink (or bowl) that stands out the most, however, has to be the Watermelon Soju in Watermelon (S$37). Although Watermelon Soju in a Jug (S$34) is available, scooping soju from a fruit bowl for your friends is surely a more fun way to drink the night away. Even after scooping all the alcohol out, you’ll get to enjoy the remaining sweet watermelon bits to sober up.

While Tanjong Pagar continues to grow its number of new and trendy Korean eateries, if you’re looking for the most authentic spots, just remember that there’s an 18-year-old restaurant waiting for you.
