Planning a holiday trip to Johor Bahru? Make sure to mark your calendars for the biggest MaQan Food Fest 2023 ever in Johor Bahru, featuring over 140 vendors with more than 1000 types of food that you can indulge in, interesting activities, workshops and live performances that will blow you away!
MaQan Food Fest will take place from 24 to 26 November 2023, which happens to be from Friday to Sunday. What makes this weekend festival even better is that it is entirely free-to-enter, so it’s time to bring out the party animal in you!
They’ll be bringing in vendors from Kuala Lumpur for the first time, so you know how this is big.
Munch down on street foods from Malaysia, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Thailand and more. There’ll be your favourite cheesy tacos, loaded fries, croffle sticks, gilgeori toasts (Korean street toasts), bombolonis, juicy sausages and bubble teas in every flavour imaginable.
You can expect to see viral snacks like honeycomb soft serve, chunky toasts and novel snacks like roti bakar bandung, which is a thick bandung toast layered with generous amounts of chocolate, cheese and condensed milk. Looks like I’ll have to put off my diet plans for a few days!
Of course, you can’t expect the 140 vendors to all be food stalls — there’s plenty of activities for you to participate in as well. Burn some calories at their Haunted House, or take the chance to snap up some cute clothes and accessories at their retail booths.
They’ve got a 360-degree photobooth to capture the good vibes at the festival too. If you’re looking for something more chill, MaQan Food Fest 2023 will be bringing in a petting zoo so you can have some cuddle time with adorable animals.
Get handsy at craft workshops that will teach you how to make traditional crafts like weaving rattan items, or let your child show off their creative skills in one of the craft colouring workshops.
Don’t forget to wrap up the day with electrifying concerts by bands and performances from dance groups. (Yes, your free entry ticket includes these performances as well!)
