Famous wheel pie brand from Taiwan is opening in Singapore with flavours like taro, earl grey milk tea, bacon with potato & more

We’ve got exciting news for all — famous Taiwanese wheel pie brand Mister Wheel (不貳光車輪餅) is coming to Singapore!

It’s tricky to find this street food delicacy in Singapore, with the few places to get them being the TaiWan Night Market, or having to cross the borders to Happiness Wheel Cake at Mount Austin. But now, we will soon be able to enjoy some authentic wheel pies at Suntec City

There is no confirmed opening date as of yet, but you can spot their brand splashed across a hoarding board at Level 1, Tower 1 of Suntec City. Suntec City’s directory and the official Mister Wheel website have also included a small teaser of their arrival onto the shores of Singapore.

If you haven’t heard of this popular Taiwanese wheel pie eatery, let me bring you up to speed on their offerings and what we can possibly expect for their first outlet in Singapore!

Mister Wheel is known for their chewy wheel pies — or QQ, as the Taiwanese would say — stuffed with generous amounts of fillings ranging from the classic red bean to savoury ones like sauerkraut.

They currently have two outlets across Taiwan which sees long queues each day, and even an even longer waiting list online. They’ve even been invited to cater for esteemed guests of Taiwan’s Presidential Office.

Well, we definitely can expect the same long queues in Singapore when they open! Mister Wheel offers nine flavours, some of which I can foresee Singaporeans going gaga for. First is their Taro Wheel Pie, which is packed with fragrant taro sourced from the “Taro Capital of Taiwan”, Dajia. You can even find chunks of taro hidden within the pie.

Second is their Matcha with Mochi Wheel Pie, featuring matcha from Shizuoka of Japan that is also renowned for producing some of the world’s finest matcha. You’ll be able to taste the quality of the matcha with one bite — there is a balance of rich aroma and bitterness to it, all while keeping it interesting with sweet, stretchy mochi.

Another crowd pleaser is their Earl Grey Milk Tea Wheel Pie that is highly praised for its strong earl grey fragrance and smooth, New Zealand-sourced cream that is not overly sweet.

As you can already tell, Mister Wheel spares no effort in obtaining the best ingredients from around the world for their wheel pies, so you can be sure that even their classic flavours like Custard, Red Bean, Sesame with Peanut and Chocolate will taste extra special.

Their savoury options, the Bacon with Potato and Taiwanese Sauerkraut with Pepperoni wheel pies, are also fan favourites. The Sauerkraut Wheel Pie was initially released as a limited-time flavour, but it proved to be so popular that it gained a permanent spot on the menu.

Mister Wheel also offers different types of tea for you to wash down the nosh, including pu er, oolong, and milk tea in flavours like taro and white gourd.

We’ll be updating this post as soon as more information on the Singapore branch is released, but let’s hope you’ll see even more exciting flavours on the menu here!
