Do you need a new gelato spot? New gelato and coffee bar Mondo opens at Amoy Street.
Derived from the Italian word, meaning ‘world’, this new gelato bar serves up unorthodox flavours like the Blue Cheese & Candied Pear, Honey Lavender, and Marsala Wine Poached Figs.
At this relaxing cafe cum bar, single scoop gelato and sorbet is priced at S$7, double scoop at S$10, and triple scoops at S$12.
I personally enjoyed the Sicilian Pistachio most for its nutty yet buttery undertone.
As a blue cheese hater, I was pleasantly surprised by the Blue Cheese & Candied Pear. The combination of such pungent cheese and the candied pear chunks was seamless.
A cone person? Mondo has your back! The cone is the cherry on top when paired with a sweet scoop of ice cream for its slightly charred, savoury taste.
If you want something more refreshing and less sinful, opt for the sorbet options, ranging from Pineapple Makgeolli and Lemon Sake to Watermelon Mint.
The Pineapple Makgeolli sorbet had a refreshing tanginess and slight fizz to it. Fermented rice wine lovers, do opt for this.
Apart from the range of gelato and sorbet offered, Mondo also offers cocktails and cocktail floats from their cocktail taps.
Shiso Fine, a citrusy yuzu-based cocktail, No Filter Needed, a cocktail combined with vodka and black coffee, and Cosmo & Wanda (a blend of kakubin, strawberry, matcha and makgeolli) are some of their offerings.
Cocktails at Mondo go from S$18, but you can add on S$4 to make it a cocktail float.
Mondo is open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, perfect for when you need a place to unwind after dinner.
Experience the worldly enchantment at this new gelato and coffee bar at Amoy Street for yourself now!
