It’s time to skip the plane ticket and hassle, Japan is coming to you!

The Isetan Sakura Matsuri Festival is taking over NEX until 23 March 2025. This time, get prepared to be on a sugar rush with the Sakura Matsuri Festival 2025.

Anyone who has a sweet tooth would need to tune in for this.

Indulge in Bashodo’s Honzukuri Warabimochi (S$24 for 400g), which are soft, chewy, and dusted with roasted soybean flour. Definitely a must-try classic with four flavours: Kinako, Green Tea, Sesame, and Cocoa.

We all know Japanese jellies are elite. So, it’s time to try out the Premium Mix Jelly (S$24 per pack). Each pack comes with 20 pieces, so you might just have to fight off snack thieves at home.

Matcha An is dubbed the world’s richest matcha fondant chocolate cake. So, try out the Matcha Fondant Chocolate (S$39), which oozes an intense green tea flavour and even gets a touch of gold dust for that extra ooh-la-la.

Still craving matcha? Get the Uji Matcha Affogato (S$9.50), grab some matcha powder (S$45), or mix your own cafe-style drinks with their matcha milk base (S$14).

Oh, and if you love limited-edition treats, the Sakura Matcha Affogato (S$9.50) is capped at only 20 servings per day, so set your alarms.

Craving something warm and fluffy? Yakimono Club is serving up Mini Taiyaki (S$10 for 16 pieces) with flavours like Custard, Chocolate, Cream Cheese, Caramel, Strawberry Milk, Red Bean, and Green Tea.

For the OG taiyaki experience, Amane has regular-sized Taiyaki (S$5 per piece) in Sweet Red Bean Paste, Custard Cream, and Chocolate.

Need a little buzz? From Ishikawa Prefecture, savour the Kenrokuzakura Junmai Nigori (S$48) or the Ozeki Sakura Beauty 45 Junmai Daiginjyo Sake (S$80) from Makoto-Ya.

But you definitely need something savoury to counter all the sweetness.

Nikusho Tanaka is serving up Mt Fuji Wagyu Ricebowl (S$18), Wagyu Croquette (S$6 per piece), and Mt Fuji Wagyu Menchi Katsu Burger (S$8). Or, go for their specialty, A5 Mt Fuji Wagyu Beef Chateaubriand Steak (S$48 per 100g).

For a seafood fix, dig into Braised Seafood (S$9.50 per 100g) or Jumbo Ikameshi (S$17) because grilled squid stuffed with rice just hits differently (admin has never tried this, and she’s so curious about it).

Other fan-favourites also includes the Strawberry & Matcha Mochi Ice Cream (S$12) from Tokio, Kumamon Bear Pancake (S$5 per piece) from Monario, and more!

Will you be heading down to try it out?
