Johor Bahru is back at it again with yet another food fiesta, and this time it is filled with different types of Thai street food!

Let’s be real, Thai food has captured most of our hearts with favourites such as pad thai, pineapple fried rice, and green curry — to name a few.

Siam Festival, organised by ARQ Group, has more than 80 vendors that offers a wide variety of both Thai and Malaysian street food. The festival is taking place from now until 14 January 2024, and the best part is, the whole festival is halal!

Unlike previous street markets that featured some great live performances and even fireworks, here, you’ll be swarmed with so much Thai food that it almost seems like you’re in Thailand itself.

They offer an array of Thai street food such as moo ping, which by the way, looks absolutely divine and is enough to make me feel hungry already!

And of course, how can there be a Thai food festival without mookata? Depending on the stall vendor, you can choose your ingredients and then proceed to grill it. You’ll be able to dig into your food fresh and hot.

Speaking of grilling, there are also a number of vendors who offer grilled food on sticks such as prawns, octopus, and even fried mini crabs!

On the Malaysian street food front, some of the classics available include Nasi Goreng and Nasi Ayam that you can grab portions of.

Pair that with some Tom Yum Seafood and your tastebuds are in for a treat with a bunch of flavours exploding in your mouth!

Other F&B vendors such as Tom Yum Mama, Seafood Som Tam, Mango Sticky Rice, Tanghulu and much more to dig into. Of course if you’re tired of taking a stroll around the food vendors and carrying your food around, there are also seats and tables around the F&B vendors for you to sit down and dig into your food freshly served.

Much like the regular pasar malam concept that we are very familiar with, you can expect some vendors to offer a touch of retail at Siam Festival from footwear, to apparel, and even stationary. After filling your tummies, it’s time to start filling your shopping bags.

Run, don’t walk to JB as this Thai food festival closes its doors this weekend!
