Flower shop and restaurant, Tomacado opens at Paragon, with fusion cuisines, wagyu, truffle roasted chicken, floral cocktails, and more

Looking for an aesthetic restaurant? You can now visit Tomacado, a joint flower shop and restaurant, to experience a harmonious blend of gastronomy and floral aesthetics, all in one place!

Tomacado is the combination of the words “Tomato” and “Avocado”. It is said that when eaten together, the unsaturated fatty acids found in avocados and the anticancer lycopene present in tomatoes create a four-fold impact in nutritional value.

Located in the bustling heart of Orchard, Tomacado offers mainly western-inspired food selections, with Japanese, Chinese, and South East Asian influences.

If you’ve been following the articles I’ve written, you might know by now that I am a huge seafood lover. This dish at Tomacado was the very first plate of food that stole my eyes.

This Signature Cured Salmon (S$28), served Carpaccio-style with wasabi, soy sauce, lime, and balsamic vinegar is one of the appetisers you should look out for, when dining at Tomacado. Another appetiser I am deeply invested in trying would be the Glazed Iberico Pluma with Beet-Pear Confit (S$25)

The Iberico Pluma is taken from the neck end of pork loin, making it extremely lightweight. Pluma also means ‘lightweight’ in Spanish, perfectly describing this cut of meat. Gosh, I can’t resist a good cut of pork loin.

The MBS 6/7 Wagyu Steak (S$89) is Tomacado’s signature main. It is a 250g dish of perfectly cooked wagyu striploin slices, served alongside three different types of sauces — black pepper sauce, Tomacado’s signature chili powder, as well as a herby, zesty sauce.

If you’re not into beef, the Tomacado Signature Roasted Chicken, S$34 for half, and S$64 for a whole chicken, are also one of the restaurant’s best-selling mains.

Feeling slightly fancier? Get their roasted Black Truffle flavoured chicken for an additional S$5 respectively.

For those with an exquisite palette, you can get the Foie Gras & MBS 6/7 Wagyu Bowl, at S$52.

Vegetarian and Vegan options are also available at Tomacado, with their Signature Vegetarian Spaghetti (S$24), Wild Morel & Pumpkin Braised Rice (S$30), Cranberry & Mixed Fruit Dessert Pizza (S$22), Tomacado Signature Honey Roasted Pumpkin Salad (S$24), and more.

These menu options are marked with a symbol, so do look out for it, if you’re in search of a vegetarian option when you visit the restaurant.

While the dishes might not be adorned with as much as flowers we might envision it to be, the amount of flower petals on their drinks surely won’t disappoint.

The Blue Butterfly Pea Sparkling Soda (S$15) is one aesthetically pleasing drink. The ice cubes are served, decorated with vibrant violet flowers. You can pour the yellow lime juice into the blue butterfly pea soda, to create a lavender hue when the two liquids amalgamate.

The glass of the Rose-Infused Margarita (S$18) is also beautifully embellished with rose petals, while the Monet’s Garden Floral Cocktail (S$18) is made with colourful, edible flowers, Sauvignon Blanc, and gin.

Whether you’re a foodie or a flower enthusiast, Tomacado surely has something in store for you.

Judging by its atmosphere and food, it would be an excellent place to impress your date, or to celebrate female figures in your family.
