A toy that took the 2000s by storm, the Tamagotchi makes its return with UNIQLO this December, announcing the launch of the newest UNIQLO Tamagotchi UT Collection.
As the collection revolves around the simple yet expressive virtual pet, anticipate charming T-shirt designs and a UT Original Tamagotchi. The UT Original Tamagotchi, in particular, was inspired by the first generation of Tamagotchi. The T-shirt designs, on the other hand, were created based on the pixel art from the original Tamagotchi.
Following the pioneering Tamagotchi series from 1996, the UT Original Tamagotchi features a minimalistic look alongside its compact, portable size. On the Tamagotchi screen, you’ll meet your Babytchi to raise, just like the classic experience. Although a small detail, an exclusive feature of the UT Original Tamagotchi is its background design, carrying the UT Collection logo.
As small as a keychain, you can easily hang this virtual pet on your bag, jeans, or carabiner. With a device that fits in your palm, there’s no excuse not to take care of this adorable character.
In addition to this Tamagotchi, a special website has also been launched, which includes UT original mini-games to enjoy. The game plot starts with Mametchi, who pops out from the Tamagotchi shell. While navigating the website, guide Mametchi as he gathers falling items and food while wearing his UT apparel.
As for the Tamagotchi UT apparel, you can expect four limited-edition T-shirt designs.
The first shirt features the classic design of the first Tamagotchi, with its game screen featuring the character Kuchipatchi, paying homage to the roots of Tamagotchi in 1996.
The second is a simple Tamagotchi logo that adorns the chest, and the back is filled with colourful pixelated Tamagotchi. A pop design that brings together the characters Ginjirotchi, Kuchipatchi, Mametchi, Mimitchi, and Pochitchi, this shirt balances a fun and minimalistic design.
Another design for the avid Tamagotchi lovers, this tee features an embroidered design of Mametchi, who can only be encountered if well taken care of. On the back, you’ll find scenes unique to Mametchi’s training games.
Lastly, Mametchi appears with a white Tamagotchi, paired with displaying the process of raising Mametchi from an egg, a must-have for fans.
The Tamagotchi UT collection will be available online and in-stores starting 15 December 2025, with T-shirts at S$19.90 and the Tamagotchi device at S$39.90.
