5 must-try burgers in SG with unique flavours like Thai-inspired Impossible patty burgers to HK-Style smash burgers, and more

by Cheryl Juan and Maeve M

Burgers. An all-time favourite comfort food we know and love. But let’s be real — the usual fast food options can start to feel a little mundane and same old same old after a while.

If you’re craving something a little more exciting between the buns, it might be time to switch things up. Think bold sauces, unexpected ingredients, and patties done a little differently.

Enough said, we have rounded up 5 burger joints in Singapore serving anything but the usual.

The Goodburger

Plant-based burgers have been on the rise as more people look for healthier, eco-friendly eats — and The Goodburger delivers just that. Serving up a fully plant-based menu on wheels, it’s a rare find in Singapore’s burger scene.

Best known for its fully meat-free menu, they use premium plant-based proteins like Impossible and TiNDLE to recreate familiar flavours with a twist.

If you’re feeling bold, try One Night in Bangkok (S$14.90) — a Thai-inspired burger featuring an Impossible patty, or go for a different twist with What The Cluck! (S$14.90), which stars crispy Southern-style TiNDLE chicken.

There’s even more to love for students — happening all day long, you can flash your student card to enjoy The Classic (S$10) that comes with an additional side of fries!

Shiok Burger

Looking for a more wallet-friendly burger? Shiok Burger is a local brand serving up Asian-fusion burgers — think comfort flavours like ebiko and mala in your burgers.

Their Mala Chicken Burger (S$2.99) is the ultimate budget bite — and take it from me (yes, admin’s still a student too), it’s my go-to when I’m craving something spicy, satisfying, and super affordable.

If you’re feeling something heavier, make it a Mala Chicken Burger set (S$5.99) instead with Beef Cheese Fries or Ebiko Potato Totes as a side and a drink of your choice.

Tried and tested — definitely a steal.

One Fattened Calf Burgers

Think a huge slab of cold butter in the middle of a cheeseburger — not quite the combination one would expect.

The OFC Butterburger (S$16.50) from One Fattened Calf delivers just that — and it’s a crowd favourite for a reason. Made with premium grass-fed beef and fluffy potato buns, the burger gets an unexpected twist from a slab of cold butter that melts perfectly into the warm patty and sauces. It’s rich, satisfying, and so good that they’re almost always packed whenever I visit.

Need something refreshing to quench your thirst? Their OFC Golden Lime Slushie (S$5.50) never disappoints. A perfect blend of sour and sweet, this drink is sure to rejuvenate.

Ever heard of dry-aged beef? If you haven’t, give it a go at Ye Olde Cow

Known for its enhanced beefy flavour and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, dry-aged beef takes your burger experience to a whole new level.

Take your pick between their half-pint or full burger options and don’t skip out on their sides like the Cheese Fries (S$8) topped with minced dry-aged beef for that extra kick.

Their Half-Pint OG Burger (S$17) comes with their signature patty, cheese, and rich caramelised onions while their Half-Pint Classic Burger (S$17) adds fresh crunch with tomato and lettuce.
