Iconic performances headed your way in 2025 and 2026 like the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Musical, and more!

Singapore is starting to bring in more and more international performance troupes, alongside major locaI groups in Singapore. From the renowned Christmas ballet The Nutcracker, to a cross-tradition collaboration performance by Singapore Symphony Orchestra, here are our top five upcoming performances you cannot miss. 

Kalaa Utsavam 

Esplanade brings the 24th edition of the annual Indian Festival of Arts, Kalaa Utsavam, from 21–30 November 2025. A festival bigger than ever, Kalaa Utsavam presents six new works in their line-up this year—including four Esplanade co-productions and one Esplanade commission.

The Nutcracker 

The most iconic ballet during the Christmas season, The Nutcracker is returning to Singapore’s Esplanade Theatre from 16–20 December 2025.

You can look forward to snow coming to the theatre, and beautiful ballerinas to take over the stage in their exquisite costumes with light chamber music.

As a Singapore debut special, international ballet superstars like Iana Salenko and Marian Walter will appear as guest principal artists, bringing us a performance as graceful as no other. 

Tickets to The Nutcracker range from S$88 to S$188, with performance timings at 2.30pm and 8pm on 18–20 December 2025, and only at 8pm on 16–17 December 2025. Do note that these prices are subject to a booking platform fee.

SSO Chamber Series: Elements – SSO x Ding Yi

A cross-tradition collaboration between two of Singapore’s most prestigious chamber music ensembles from the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Ding Yi Music Company of Singapore brings the best of both worlds to the Victoria Concert Hall on 11 January 2026.

The entire concert, SSO Chamber Series: Elements – SSO x Ding Yi, will include musicians from both ensembles, performing with both Chinese and Western instruments. This concert will be conducted by Ding Yi Music Company’s Resident Conductor Wong De Li, Dedric. Get the chance to witness both ensembles play a piece together, where Western and Chinese tones intertwine.

This concert also acts as a chance to experience live-performance pieces composed by Singaporean composers Sulwyn Lok and Ho Chee Kong. Additionally, the works of Chinese-American composers Tan Dun and Zhou Long will be played—a rare line-up that can only be found through this event.

Together, both ensembles bring you a fusion of Chinese and Western music, where you can anticipate a performance full of the eccentric Singaporean spirit.  

Standard tickets to the SSO Chamber Series: Elements – SSO x Ding Yi cost either S$30, S$40, or S$50 depending on category, and discounts up to 25% are available. SG Culture Pass credits can also be used to attend this concert.

The ensembles will be performing at the Victoria Concert Hall on 11 January 2026, starting at 7.30pm. Do be seated 15 minutes before the performance starts, as latecomers will only be admitted during appropriate pauses in the show, if any.

SINGLAND Festival: Rain

After nine years, K-pop sensation Rain makes his highly anticipated comeback to Singapore on 31 December 2025, headlining Singapore’s biggest countdown festival—SINGLAND Festival.

Rain will kick off the three-day SINGLAND Festival line-up with a 120-minute concert set, followed by 3 other international artists on 2–3 January 2026. The other headlining artists consist of Terry Lin, Henry Lau, and Ne-Yo

Tickets to Rain’s headline set range from S$188 to S$328, and can be acquired through SISTIC. Do note that these prices are subject to a booking platform fee.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved classic, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, this award-winning musical brings its iconic songs from the original film and more to Singapore

Starting 19 May 2026, the following 20 days at the Sands Theatre promise a production of whimsical charm and unforgettable immersive fun. You can be assured of its production quality, backed by a team that has won two Tony Awards.

A little easter egg representative of the musical’s imaginative reputation is the Wonka Golden Surprise Seat, for sale at S$238 to S$258. Just like Charlie’s golden ticket, a sweet surprise awaits these premium seat holders, making it all the more inclusive and audience-centric. 

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical will take place at the Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands, from 19 May–7 June 2026. Ticket prices start from S$88, up to S$872, and are currently on sale. Do note that these prices are subject to booking platform fee.
