Always wanted to try your hand at pottery but never got the chance? Now you can, at one of Singapore’s most affordable pottery studios – with workshops from just S$29! Located in Bukit Batok’s Civil Service Club, Wei Chuan Pottery Studio offers both workshops and classes for those eager to try their hand at the craft.
Workshops start from S$29 for an hour, where you’ll learn to make teacups and bowls. The studio’s instructors will first demonstrate how to make them, and then it’s your turn. While it might seem a little daunting at first, the workshop is fully guided, so you’ll get the hang of things in no time. Need more time? The studio also offers two-and-a-half hour workshops at S$59!
You’ll get to sculpt your very own masterpiece (choose a cup or a bowl) from start to finish, with all materials provided, and top up an extra S$10 for glazing if you want to take it home.
There is a wide variety of colours to choose from, so go crazy decorating your cup or bowl, and the instructor will glaze it for you. Patience is key here — you’ll be able to pick it up in six weeks!
If you want to pick up pottery as a hobby, the studio also offers a 5-week beginner course (S$350) where you’ll learn how to create coffee mugs, plates, and even flower vases. Or if you’re already experienced at pottery and want a space to unleash your creativity and create your own pieces, a 10-hour day pass goes at S$200 (that’s just S$20 per hour!)
It’s a great activity for families, couples, or if you just want an hour of kneading your stress away (even kids can join in the fun).
What are you waiting for? It’s time to get messy and spend an afternoon at Wei Chuan Pottery Studio creating your own masterpiece!
